Hey, ya’ll! Hope your weekend is going well! I managed to get all my Holiday Catalog Shares cut up, packaged and mailed yesterday. And bought feed for the Big Horse. So I felt pretty proud of my accomplishments!
I hope you’ll all spend a few moments today….Remembering. We must never ever forget….
Today, I bring you another special request card – one for a birthday. This will go to a lady who has…a husky! So, I pulled out my non-Stampin’ Up! husky stamp. And I added it to a Sitting Here swing, a little bit of Live, Love, Grow and a Birthday Blossoms sentiment. The swing was ask for specifically! Take a look-see:
I based my layout – albeit loosely! – on this week’s Freshly Made Sketches design. FMS #253:
I began the card with a Rich Razzleberry panel, that I turned into some designer paper with the help of the Touches of Texture stamp set. Using the flower outline image, I stamped all over the panel in Rich Razzleberry ink, creating a tone-on-tone effect. Then I matted it on Copper Foil.
My central art is a piece of Canson 90lb Cold-Pressed Watercolor paper. I did some masking here to get the “scene”. Remember, when you do masked layers, you first stamp the images in the foreground, and move to the back.
So, I first stamped my husky in Basic Gray Archival Ink. Next came the Sitting Here flower pot, which I stamped in Crumb Cake. I covered both images with sticky note masks and then added the swing in Early Espresso.
I colored the husky with Smoky Slate ink, using my Aqua Painter. Then I used my Clear Wink of Stella to color the flower pot in Soft Suede and the swing in Crumb Cake. Stampin’ Write markers – in Old Olive, Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry and Blushing Bride – colored the flowers.
Across the top, I stamped the two…frond?….images from Live, Love, Grow in Old Olive and then used my Clear Wink of Stella to blend the color together. I wanted some tiny flowers to strew around the foliage – like it was a pergola – so I pulled out my Tree Builder Punch and cut several in Blushing Bride and the Watercolor Paper. I used my stylus to round them up into flower shapes and then added some Enamel Shapes – Daffodil Delight in the Blushing Bride flowers and Rich Razzleberry in the Watercolor paper flowers. They’re adhered with Liquid Glue.
I stamped a square pillow image from the Sitting Here stamp set in Island Indigo on watercolor paper. Then I colored it with Daffodil Delight and a little Old Olive, using Stampin’ Write Markers. I fussy cut it and rounded it some with my stylus, then I popped it on the swing with a double thickness of Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I matted the art on Copper Foil and SNAILd it to the card front.
My sentiment is from Birthday Blossoms, stamped in Rich Razzleberry on Watercolor Paper and bannerized with my Banner Triple Punch.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere it over a stack of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon, and two shapes in Copper Foil and Old Olive, cut with my Swirly Scribbles Thinlits.
I added another Blushing Bride flower, and the card front was done! 🙂
On the inside, I added another Sitting Here flower pot to a piece of Very Vanilla card stock and colored it with my Clear Wink of Stella and the same Stampin’ Write Markers I’d used on the front.
I SNAILd it to Copper Foil and then into my Blushing Bride card base. The card front is popped on with Stampin’ Dimenionals to complete the card.
My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got a repeat of the Sitting Here flower pot on the front…
…and I stamped more of the Touches of Texture flowers in Rich Razzleberry on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I think it looks like a shady swing under a flowery bower – just the perfect spot to sit a spell, with a furry friend – and while the day away with a good book, don’t you? Hope you like! 🙂
