Stampin’ Up! Seasonal Bells Christmas Wedding

Morning, y’all – Happy Monday!  It is happy, too – cuz I don’t have to work!!

Well – at least not at work work.  I do have to finish the little mess I started yesterday.  Decided to get brutal in the pantry.  Like…if I’d forgotten I had something, it was gone!  Then I happened to notice the cabinets – before I finished the pantry – and sort of went off on a tangent.  My island is wide and has doors on both sides of it.  Unfortunately, it doesn’t have slide out shelves (don’t think they existed in the 70’s….).  So…if you put something at the front of the cabinet – you can see it and even use it.  Put it behind that, though….and it’s lost.  I might even have found the place that socks go when you lose them in the dryer.  Ravioli plate?  Pasta Maker?  Huh.  Extra crock pot crock with no pot?  Yep.

The downside of my sudden end-of-the-contemplation-and-beginning-of-the-implementation is that I ran out of steam before the completion of said implementation.

So I have a kitchen full of stuff that needs to make it’s way to the van.  And I ran out of boxes.

Which means that’s on the agenda for today.  Bleh…. 🙁

But, let’s talk about something fun – like my card for today, shall we?  I made a Christmas Wedding card.  My parents were married at Christmas and I always thought that would be a cool time of year to get married.  With the church all decorated for Christmas.  Beautiful!

So making a card for a Christmas wedding seemed like a really good idea.  I used the new Seasonal Bells – which has both Christmas and Wedding sentiments!  And I added a great sentiment from the Floral Phrases stamp set.  Take a look-see:

I used the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge #188 to guide the layout.

CTS 188 Sketch
I started the card by SNAILing a panel of the Annual Catalog This Christmas DSP to a Cherry Cobbler mat.  Then I SNAILd a small Garden Green panel to the card front.

For my art panel, I cut a couple of Garden Green pine boughs with the Pretty Pines Thinlits and a berry sprig from a piece of Gold Foil.  Then I stamped two Seasonal Bell images in Versamark on Very Vanilla and heat embossed them with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  I punched them out with the matching (and bundled!) Bell Punch.

I took a small panel of Very Vanilla and stamped the Seasonal Bells sentiment in Cherry Cobbler at the bottom.  Then I ran the panel thru the Big Shot in the new (Annual Catalog) Holly TIEF.  Now, this is interesting.  I stuck the panel in the TIEF, with the bottom right above my sentiment.  When I ran it thru, there was none of the “line” that I’m used to seeing where the TIEF started.  Not sure what SU! did, but…I thank them for it! 🙂  It let me drop the holly embossing right down to frame the sentiment.

I rounded the bottom of my panel with the outside rounder on my Envelope Punch Board and SNAILd it to a Cherry Cobbler mat.  Then I popped it over the Garden Green panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I arranged my Pretty Pines pine boughs and Gold Foil berries and then added the bells over top – all with Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.  Then I tied a little bow with a piece of Cherry Cobbler and Gold Baker’s Twines (you get them both, plus a Garden Green spool in the Baker’s Twine Trio Pack in the Holiday Catty) and added it with a Glue Dot.  And that was it for the card front!

Seasonal Bells Christmas Wedding 9 - Stamps-N-Lingers
On the inside, I stamped the sentiment from Floral Phrases in Cherry Cobbler on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  Then I stamped one of my bells on a sticky note and fussy cut it.  I was making a mask – and I wanted the image line – not the image with the little extra you get when you use the punch.

Then I stamped the first bell – the one that was going to be in front – in So Saffron ink, right over the sentiment.  I covered it with my mask and stamped the second bell.

I SNAILd the panel into a Basic Black card base, popped the front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done!

For my Very Vanilla Envelope, I repeated the masked bells image in So Saffron on the front…

…and added some more of the This Christmas DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I kind of love how this turned out!  The bells in Seasonal Bells are so pretty and they emboss and punch perfectly.  And, of course, the Pretty Pines  – my favorite – and the sheet music from This Christmas.  Yep!  Hope you like! 🙂

  1. Just beautiful Mary! Love the pine boughs and your bow, awesome layering. And the background paper is perfect! Good luck finishing up the kitchen clean out…then can you come to my house and do the same thing?? 😉

    • Thanks so much, Amy! And – I’d love to come clean out your kitchen. It’s my very favorite thing to do. She said….never! 🙂

  2. Ha, Amy beat me to my comment about the clean out! Your wedding card is wonderful! December weddings are pretty, but when you have birthdays, anniversarys and Christmas together, it gets crazy! Ask me how I know!!!

  3. Mom

Oh, so beautiful. Your card…AND our wedding all those many years ago when the church was filled with white poinsettias and one undecorated white Christmas tree. It did become a little crazy with Christmas, anniversary and two birthdays, just as my mother said it would. I never cared. It was a lovely time.

  4. I bet it was, Mom! Thanks! 🙂

  5. This is beautiful! Wonderful take on the sketch!
