Stampin’ Up! Everyday Jars and Jars of Thanks!

Hey ya’ll – exciting news!  This card was selected as a Design Team Pick over at Can You CASE It!!  Whoo-hoo!  Thanks to all the ladies at CYCI – and thanks to Kim for selecting my card.  You can click here to see all the winning picks!! 🙂

—————————

Monday again, heh?  Once again, the weekend has flown by and we’re back in the work week.  At least this one will count us down to – for a lot of us! – a three day weekend!  I know it’s bad to wish your life away, but…three days off is always worth a “Yeah”!

So, my card for today uses one of my favorite new bundles – the Jar of Love bundle.  With that one, you get the Jar of Love Photopolymer stamp set and the coordinating Everyday Jars Framelits.  And boy do you get a lot of images and sentiments and fun things to cut out when you buy this bundle!  So many ways to use it and so many fun projects to make.  I paired the bundle with a few of the dies in the Flourish Thinlits set.  Take a look-see:

Jars and Jars of Love 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers

This card played along with three challenges today.  The first, Pals Paper Arts #306, drove the layout.

PPA 306 Sketch

The second Can You Case It #126 – challenged us to use dies for our projects:

CYCI #126 Sketch
Finally, Just Us Girls gave us a photo inspiration that was quite influential in my color choices! 🙂  Check out Just Us Girls #349:

JUGs #349 sketch
So – let’s get started, shall we? 🙂

I began with a panel of Smoky Slate card stock, that I stamped with the big Hardwood background stamp – in Sahara Sand.  Then I ran it thru the Big Shot in the Woodgrain TIEF.  I thought that combination ended up looking very much like the weathered fence in the JUGS photo!  That panel is SNAILd to a mat of Tempting Turquoise.

Then I started building the three elements for the Pals Paper Arts sketch.  Each square began with a Tempting Turquoise scallop-edged square, cut with the new Layering Squares Framelits.  Then I stamped three of the small jars from the Jar of Love stamp set, in Early Espresso ink on Whisper White, and cut them all out with their matching framelit die in Everyday Jars.

Jars and Jars of Love 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers
Each jar got a “piece of burlap” that I made with the stamp in Jar of Love.  I did one in Cucumber Crush, Melon Mambo and Elegant Eggplant.  I stamped them on scrap Whisper White and quickly fussy cut them.  Then I adhered them over their “jars” with Glue Dots.  On the Cucumber Crush piece, I stamped the sentiment – also from Jar of Love – in Early Espresso.

I used some new Baker’s Twine – the Melon Mambo and Cucumber Crush Thick Baker’s Twine, and the new Solid Baker’s Twine in Elegant Eggplant – and wrapped it around each of the jars, securing it on the back of the die cut with Scotch Tape.

Jars and Jars of Love 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I added bows from each of the twines, electing to match the “burlap” on each jar.  The bows are adhered with little dabs of Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.

The “flowers” are all cut with the Flourish Thinlits.  I cut flowers in Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight and Sweet Sugarplum.  And I cut “berry boughs” in Pear Pizzazz.  Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere the flowers to the Tempting Turquoise scalloped squares.  Finally, I popped each of the jars over their flowers with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I used some more Liquid Glue to adhere the flower-filled jars to the card front.

Jars and Jars of Love 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers
On the inside, I used the jar image again from Jar of Love, and stamped it in Sahara Sand (that I stamped off once first) in the center of a Whisper White panel.  Then I used the so-cute wrapped twine bow image to add that to the jar, using Crumb Cake ink.   This image is a little long for this small jar, so I just stuck some scotch tape over the end of the “twine” to make it the right length for the jar.  This combo is light enough that it’ll be easy to write a message right over the top of it! 🙂

Jars and Jars of Love 5 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I SNAILd the panel to a Tempting Turquoise mat and then into my Melon Mambo card base.  I added the card front with SNAIL, too, and the card was done.

The Whisper White Medium Envelope got the twine image in Crumb Cake across a corner of the front of the envelope…

Jars and Jars of Love 6 - Stamps-N-Lingers

…and then I used it again, this time in Melon Mambo, on the back flap.  I taped over the end, to make the image smaller to suit the flap.

Jars and Jars of Love 7 - Stamps-N-Lingers

Et Voila!  While there are no boots on this card, I think the card definitely evokes the photo inspiration, don’t you?  I don’t know if you guys have this Jar of Love bundle yet – but I sure hope you’re thinking about it if you don’t! It’s just too fun! 🙂
