Stampin’ Up! Sunshine Textures for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

HappyStampersBlogPostBanner-2
Mornin’, y’all –  welcome to another edition of the Happy Stampers Blog Hop.  This week is a color challenge – check it out!

June 16
I’ve discovered a crafter truism.  There’s nothing better than a whole bunch of new toys to play with.  And, there’s nothing worse than a whole bunch of new toys to play with!  I have so many goodies – and more coming! – that I want to play with, it’s just really hard narrowing it down.  But I managed to pick…three….for today’s card.  The main player is the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, with some Touches of Texture thrown in.  And some Brushwork Alphabet to round out the line-up.  All mixed with a little Playful Palette DSP.  Take a look-see:

Textured Sunshine Wishes 7 - Stamps-N-Lingers
Bright and busy, huh?  But I think it’s kind of fun – and it’s going to suit the person who will receive it – and I think that’s kind of the point, isn’t it?  🙂

I started by SNAILing some of the Sweet Sugarplum paper from the Playful Palette DSP stack onto a Blushing Bride mat.  The next step was to stamp a few of the fun flower images from Touches of Texture in Blushing Bride onto a smaller panel of Very Vanilla card stock.  I stamped it off once before stamping the panel.

Then I SNAILd that to a Blushing Bride mat and then to a larger Emerald Envy mat.  And SNAILd it at a cocky angle to the card front.

All the die cuts you see come from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits set – which I got as a bundle with Sunshine Sayings, saving myself 10% (in addition to my demo discount, of course – ask me how to get your demo discount – and an extra two free stamps sets this month! 😉 ).  I cut the flower dies in Blushing Bride and Emerald Envy and used Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere them to the small panel.  I made sure that their stems came together – I was creating a bouquet! 🙂

Textured Sunshine Wishes 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers
The little butterflies are cut from Sweet Sugarplum and Very Vanilla and I doubled them up, gently curling their little wings.  Once I adhered them to the card front with Liquid Glue, I added little strips of Pearl Basic Jewels for their bodies.

The sentiment – from Sunshine Wishes again – is cut three times from Emerald Envy and then stacked together with more Multi-Purpsoe Liquid Glue.  I love the sentiment dies in this set – they’re a very pretty font, but they also have some substance to them, giving them a little weight in the card composition!

Oh yes – I totally sounded like an artist right there. 😉

I added the sentiment to the card front with Liquid Glue.  The final pieces were to add a little double bow – tied with Blushing Bride and Emerald Envy Solid Baker’s Twine – and some gold stars from the Metallic Enamel Shapes set.

Textured Sunshine Wishes 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers
On the inside, I stamped more of the Blushing Bride Touches of Texture flowers – stamping them off once first, and then I made my sentiment.  I say “made my sentiment” cuz that’s exactly what I did!  The very fun Brushwork Alphabet stamp set, combined with some Emerald Envy ink, let me write my own custom-made sentiment!

Textured Sunshine Wishes 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers
Isn’t that a beautiful font??  I stamped each letter individually – because I wanted to push them all together, with closer spacing than I could have gotten by placing all the letters on an acrylic block at the same time.  It’s pretty easy to line up – this is a photopolymer stamp set!

I finished it with one more gold star and SNAILd it onto a Blushing Bride mat and then into my Emerald Envy card base.  Then, I popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

On the front of my Very Vanilla Medium Envelope, I added some more Touches of Texture Blushing Bride flowers – some inked straight and some stamped again without re-inking…

Textured Sunshine Wishes 5 - Stamps-N-Lingers
…and then I added a custom flap cover with more of the Playful Palette DSP.

Textured Sunshine Wishes 6 - Stamps-N-Lingers

Et Voila!  Sunshine Wishes delivers fun flowers and butterflies – and four fun sentiment dies (Love, Hope, Congrats and Sunshine) – that coordinate perfectly with the Sunshine Sayings stamp set.  Or – as you can see here – do all the work themselves!  Hope that you like! 🙂
