Stampin’ Up! Blooming Love Cottage Greetings Thanks

Happy Sunday, y’all – if you’ve come over from Amy’s blog – thanks for stopping by.  Hope you’ll spend a few minutes checking out my card for today – and that perhaps you’ll decide to become a “regular”! If you’re already a regular – thanks so much for electing to spend part of your day with me! 🙂

The card I made today features the beautiful rose image in Bloomin’ Love – a stamp set that was introduced to us in the 2016 Occasions Catalog and that’ll also be with us for the new 2016-2017 Annual Catalog!  The sentiment comes from the Cottage Greetings set – which has some of the prettiest fonts going!  Take a look-see:

I was inspired to build this card by the challenge at The Card Concept, #56:

The Card Concept #56

I started by heat embossing the Bloomin’ Love image on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  I inked the image with Versamark, stamped the panel and sprinkled it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  Then I heated it up!  To color it – I pulled out my trusty Clear Wink of Stella – the one that’s almost out of shiny-winky stuff – to use as a brush.  For the flower, I picked up Pink Pirouette ink from the lid of the pad and colored in all the petals – on all the flowers.  Then I added shading with Blushing Bride.  The center stamens are colored with Daffodil Delight.

For the leaves, I colored them all with Pear Pizzazz and added shading with Old Olive.  Then I flicked the edges of the panel with Pink Pirouette – using a Sponge Dauber – and SNAILd it to a panel of Pear Pizzazz card stock.

The card front is a stencil.  The other day, while making my Happy Stampers Blog Hop card, I cut about a million leaves from a piece of card stock, using the die from Swirly Scribbles.  The remaining piece of card stock, with all the leaves cut out, just seemed like it might be useful for something, so I set it aside.  That’s what I used to stencil my card front!

I used a wedge of Stampin’ Sponge to add Pear Pizzazz leaves – going different directions – all over a piece of Very Vanilla.  I made leaves of varying depths of color.  If you do this stencil technique – try to keep the ink off the back of the stencil and wave it around when you move it to dry any “spills”!

Then I flicked the edges with Pink Pirouette and SNAILd it to a panel of Pear Pizzazz.

I popped the colored rose panel onto the stenciled card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and added a few Pearl Basic Jewels.

The sentiment, from Cottage Greetings, is stamped in Pear Pizzazz on a piece of Very Vanilla.  I cut it out with one of the dies in the Bitty Banner Framelits (this set is retiring on Wednesday and it’s reduced to $10.50!).  I gave the edges the same treatment with Pink Pirouette that I’d done on the two large panels, and popped it on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I used a doubled up piece under the right side of the banner.  And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I flicked the edges of a Very Vanilla panel with Pink Pirouette, and added more Pear Pizzazz leaves with my handy stencil.  Then I SNAILd it to a Pear Pizzazz mat and into my So Saffron card base.

I popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

For the Very Vanilla Medium Envelope, I added more of the Pear Pizzazz leaves…

…and made a flap “liner” with a piece of Pear Pizzazz paper from the Subtles DSP Stack.  I saw how to do this over on Mary Fish’s website.  I used Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue and ran a thin line right close to the edge of the flap.  Then I lined the straight edge of my paper with the stop of the envelope (the glue gives you a little wiggle room to get it lined up just right!).  Finally – do a quick fussy cut around the edge….

Et Voila! Inspired by the pretty pink flower and touches of gold in the sketch from The Card Concept blog, I created by own version with Bloomin’ Love and a leftover scrap of card stock as a stencil!  Hope that you like it – and will maybe think twice about some of that leftover paper and card stock that we end up with in the course of making our masterpieces! 🙂
