It’s Friday again! Whoo-hoo! I’m almost back to being “on” Eastern time – which is good for the morning, but bad for my evening stamping sessions! When I’m still on Mountain or Pacific time, I get a lot done in the evening! Not so much when the old bod realizes where it is!! 🙂
Thanks to all who came by yesterday for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop – it means a lot to all of us to have you see what we put together for you each week!
Today’s share is the last card I made in Arizona. I combined flowers and flowers and flowers – all from the fun Grateful Bunch bundle with a couple of great sentiments from Rose Wonder. This one went out to my friend who’s fighting a battle with cancer. I purposely made it a little over the top – cheery and warm. I wanted the flowers to be abundant – to look like a cottage garden overflowing with beautiful blooms. Take a look-see:
I started with a piece of the Wildflower Fields DSP from the Sale-A-Bration flyer, matting it on a panel of Blackberry Bliss card stock. Then I built my window by cutting a piece of White Corrugated Paper and running it thru the Big Shot in my Brick Wall TIEF. I ran it back thru, this time with the third-die-from-the-center of my Ovals Collection Framelits in place to cut my window. Then I sponged the edges lightly with Hello Honey.
The sentiment – which I think is really perfect for this time in my friend’s life (okay – always!) – is from the Rose Wonder stamp set. I stamped it in Blackberry Bliss ink (and then wiped my hands, my fingers, my chin, … my left big toe… to be sure I didn’t get that darned ink all over the place!) on a piece of the Perfectly Artistic DSP (don’t be mad – it was still available when I made this card last week!). If you don’t still have some of this paper, use a piece of So Saffron card stock, or even some Very Vanilla would be okay, too!
I SNAILd the sentiment in place on the card front, then SNAILd the corrugated paper window over that.
Then I started stamping and punching flowers with my Grateful Bunch stamp set and the coordinating Blossom Bunch punch. Here’s the colors: flower outline in Calypso Coral, color it in with Pumpkin Pie (did you guys know about this combo? This is the first I’ve used it and I love it!!!); flower outline in Blushing Bride, color it in with Pink Pirouette; Hello Honey outline, color it in with Daffodil Delight; and flower outline in Daffodil Delight and left white on the inside. I also stamped some Old Olive leaves from Grateful Bunch and fussy cut a few of them. I just kept stamping and punching and stamping and punching…. When I got what looked like a big ole basket full of flowers, I started laying them out.
Dry fit.
Dry fit.
Dry fit!
When I got it where I thought it looked balanced and bountiful and overflowing, I carefully moved the flowers away from the card front – trying to keep them generally how I had them in my final dry fit. Then I put some Glue Dots on the Corrugated Paper in each corner, and wound some Gold Metallic Thread around in big loops at each corner.
Then I used Glue Dots and the occasional Stampin’ Dimensional to adhere the flowers over the thread. I tried as best I could, but I doubt I got everything exactly back where my final dry fit ended up – but I think I’m close!
I gave every single flower a Rhinestone Basic Jewel – and moved to the inside…
The inside liner is a piece of Whisper White card stock, that I stamped in Blackberry Bliss from another of the nice sentiments from Rose Wonder. I also added some Grateful Bunch Flowers next to the sentiment. These are the Calypso Coral/Punpkin Pie, Blushing Bride/Pink Pirouette and Hello Honey/Daffodil Delight flowers.
I SNAILd that to a piece of Blackberry Bliss card stock and then SNAILd that into my Smoky Slate card base. I also used SNAIL to adhere the card front on – just to not add any more thickness! And that was it for the card.
The envelope is simple. I started with a Whisper White Medium Envelope and added a Calypso Coral/Pumpkin Pie large Grateful Bunch flower to the front…
…And then I added a liner from another piece of the Wildflower Fields DSP, cut with my Envelope Liner Framelits!
Et Voila! I was going for a cheery, uplifting card, with a message of faith and love and caring. I hope that I achieved that – and that my friend enjoys it and gets a smile when it arrives! 🙂

Beautiful card Mary! Love the framing with the oval die cut and the layered flowers. Perfectly done! 🙂
Thanks, Amy! 🙂
I wish I had a box full of these! It is perfect. And if this is a card you made for L, I know she will love it.
Thanks, Mom. But no – this is for another friend. Sent L’s a few weeks ago! 🙂
Hi Amy, great to see your cards. I live in Naperville, IL but lived in Fayetteville and Fairburn for 25 years. I love your stuff.

Hi Ronda – this is Mary. Glad to hear from a fellow (if former!) Fayetteville-ian! We were Fairburn when we first lived here – then the PO changed us to Fayetteville! Thanks for stopping by – hope to see you here again! Thanks for the nice words. 🙂
Wow, what a gorgeous card. It’s beautiful enough to be a picture on the wall! Love it!
Very nice thing to say, Susan – thanks so much! 🙂
