Stampin’ Up! What I Love Thank You and a Blog Candy Winner!

Sunday means a day of rest!!  Whoo-hoo!  And this week, it also means the announcement of the winner of last week’s Blog Candy!  Scroll on down to see if you’re the lucky one! 🙂

I went back to a beautiful stamp set that you can earn free in the Sale-A-Bration flyer, called What I Love.  I really like the pretty 3-step rose image that is the focal point of that set.  So I used it and combined it with a little Birthday Bouquet DSP from the Occasions catalog to make today’s share.  And, since I needed to replenish Thank You cards, I tapped one of my favorite Annual Catalog sets – One Big Meaning.   Take a look-see:

What I Love Thank You 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers

The layout for this card comes from this week’s Mojo Monday #431 challenge:

MM 431 Sketch

I thought that letting the flower in What I Love serve as the focal point would be a good idea and work well with the sketch.  The Birthday Bouquet DSP gave me a starting point for the color scheme – and I decided that I’d use it for the larger circle.  I cut the DSP using my Circles Collection Framelit and SNAILd it to a Watermelon Wonder circle that I punched with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch.

I cut the smaller circle in Whisper White – and to mat it I placed the Circle Collection framelit upside down (so….cutting edge UP) onto a piece of Watermelon Wonder card stock.  Then I very lightly traced the outer edge of the framelit with a pencil and fussy cut the circle!  Quick way to get a mat of the right size/width when you don’t have a punch or die that’s just right! 🙂

What I Love Thank You 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I stamped the rose onto the Whisper White circle in Mint Macaron.  The first step is to stamp the outline of the flower.  Then you fill it in with the larger of the fill-in stamps.  In this case, I inked the stamp and then stamped off twice before I stamped the circle.  Finally, I used the third image and, stamping off once, finished up the Mint Macaron Flower!  I painted it with some Clear Wink of Stella, and used just the tiniest dab of Gold Wink in the center, and that was all it needed.

The second flower is stamped in Watermelon Wonder.  I did two images on Whisper White.  Like the Mint Macaron flower, I first stamped the outline.  But then I used my Clear Wink of Stella like a Blender Pen to paint/color the flowers in.  At the end, I fussy cut one flower out – the whole thing.  And then I cut the center section of the second flower.  That piece I layered over the whole flower with a Stampin’ Dimensional.  Then I added a Metal Rimmed Pearl to the very middle.

What I Love Thank You 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I also stamped some Old Olive leaves from What I Love onto a scrap of Old Olive card stock, and fussy cut them.  Using Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue, I adhered them to the back side of the Watermelon Wonder flower.

With the pieces all ready to go, I assembled the card front.  I SNAILd a panel of Whisper White to a Watermelon Wonder mat.  Over that, I layered a piece of Watermelon Wonder 1″ Stitched Satin Ribbon, securing it in the back with scotch tape.  The Pool Party 3/8″ Glitter Ribbon adds some width to the vertical element, as well as tying in nicely with the color scheme.

What I Love Thank You 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers

Before I adhered the circles, I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to get the One Big Meaning sentiment where I needed it – stamping it in Mint Macaron ink.

Using a combination of Stampin’ Dimensionals and Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue, I adhered the circles to the card front.  More Liquid Glue for the Watermelon Wonder flower finished it off.

A few more Metal Rimmed Pearls, and the card front was ready to go!

The inside is a Whisper White panel SNAILd to Watermelon Wonder.  I added some more Mint Macaron and Watermelon Wonder flowers (with Wink!) – and then, cuz sometimes it’s fun to shake things up a bit – I stuck some Pearl Basic Jewels on the inner liner! 🙂

What I Love Thank You 5 - Stamps-N-Lingers

The inner panel is SNAILd into my Whisper White Card Base and the front popped on with Stampin’ Dimensionals – and that’s it for the card!

I did a couple more flowers – Mint Macaron and Watermelon Wonder and painted with Clear Wink – on the front of a Whisper White Medium Envelope…

What I Love Thank You 6 - Stamps-N-Lingers

…and I made a liner with more of the Birthday Bouquet DSP and my Envelope Liner Framelits.

What I Love Thank You 7 - Stamps-N-Lingers

Et Voila!  A springy-pretty card using a stamp set that you could get for FREE! What I Love gives you this beautiful flower and several sentiments, that you can get free with a $50 purchase from any catalog! P.S. Thanks for commenting on my Botanicals card yesterday! =) I’m just a hobby crafter and that meant a lot to me! I’ve been under the weather for the last couple months.
