Stampin’ Up! Have a Nice Cuppa Tea-Riffic!

Happy Saturday, y’all!  Hope that your weekend dawned bright and clear and that you’re getting ready to enjoy some much deserved rest and relaxation!

Last week, when I did my Blog Candy give-away (if you haven’t entered, there’s still a little time today – check it out here!) – many of you mentioned the A Nice Cuppa stamp set and the oh-so-cute matching Framelits called Cups & Kettle as being some of your very favorites!  Well, I really like that bundle, too, so that’s what I used – along with some of the coordinating Have a Cuppa DSP – to put together today’s share.  Take a look-see:

Have a Cuppa TeaRiffic 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers

My layout design was inspired by the Sunday Stamps sketch #119.  Head over when you’re done here and check out what all the other crafty folks have done with this one!

SSC 118 Sketch

I started by building the sculptural element at the top – it looks like a flap to me, so that’s what I keep wanting to call it.  “Sculptural element” sounds a lot fancier, doesn’t it? 😉

I used my Lots of Labels Framelits – taking the largest of the dies and laying it on a 4″ wide piece of Whisper White card stock.  I only laid the die part way down the piece of card stock – so that it would cut out just the shape I wanted.  In order to just cut the shape I needed, but leave the rest of the card stock – I only rolled it part way thru the Big Shot, kind of estimating where the “curvy” part of the die ended.

Once I’d rolled it only part way thru the Big Shot, I pulled it off the platform and just snipped the sides straight across.  That made my flap!

That was possibly the most confusing thing I’ve ever written for you guys – sorry!  My advice?  Get out your Lots of Labels and a piece of paper – and get it laid out on your platform.  I think it’ll become clear to you when you can see it.  I could have, of course, taken pictures as I did it, but that would have made way too much sense, so it would have been crazy and I’m not crazy!!

I ran that back thru the Big Shot, this time inside my Lovely Lace TIEF.  With the flap ready to go – I SNAILd it to a piece of the Have a Cuppa DSP, and then SNAILd that to a Basic Black card stock mat.

The Nice Cuppa tea cup is stamped in Mint Macaron on a piece of Whisper White card stock.   Then I added the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and cut it out with its matching Cups & Kettle Framelit.  I topped off the “i” with a tiny seed Pearl Basic Jewel.

The little heart and the tea bag tag are also both from A Nice Cuppa – I stamped the heart in Melon Mambo (I stamped it off once first) and the tag in Tuxedo Black.  On the center of the tag, I wrote a “u” with my Melon Mambo Stampin’ Write Marker.  Both of these have matching dies in the Cups & Kettle Framelits set!

I used a short length of Melon Mambo Baker’s Twine from the new Baker’s Twine Combo Pack for the “tea bag”.  I pulled a few strands out of the twine first, just to make it a little thinner.  I adhered it to the back of my tea cup with some Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue and then used my Handheld Stapler to attach the two little tags.  Then I popped the whole shootin’ match on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

The final element of the tea cup focal point is the heart-shaped steam (yes, I’m so good – I can even make steam shape itself into a heart.  Don’t envy me!).  I just used the appropriate die cut and cut a little more of the Have a Cuppa DSP, and then used Liquid Glue to adhere it over the tea cup.

The ribbon accent is a piece of Basic Black 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon, wrapped around the card front and adhered in the back with scotch tape.  Then I made a “faux bow” by just tightly tying another short length of the ribbon around that.  And that was it!

On the inside, I went old school.  I used another piece of the Have a Cuppa DSP across the bottom and then adhered more of the Basic Black ribbon across it (secured in back with scotch tape) – and it all went on a Whisper White card stock panel, and then that was layered on Basic Black.

Have a Cuppa TeaRiffic 5 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I SNAILd that into my Melon Mambo card base and popped the front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and that was it for the card!

On the Whisper White Medium envelope, I stamped three of the steamy heart images – one each in Melon Mambo, Mint Macaron and Basic Black.  Then I added a bit of an embellishment to each one with a Stampin’ Write Marker…

…and cut a liner from the Have a Cuppa DSP using the Envelope Liner Framelit!

Et Voila!  I particularly love this tea cup die cut.  How cute would that be on invitations to a tea party?  Or to a Red Hat party?? I’ll bet you could even figure a way to put a real tea bag behind the cup! 😉  This is such a fun stamp set and framelits – and you can get it all bundled together and save 15%!

I’ll be back tomorrow with another fun card.  Don’t forget that, while the Fine-Tip Glue Pen ordering special is over, you can still get DOUBLE Peppermint rewards for a few more days!
