Good Friday morning, everyone! I hope that today finds you looking forward to a fun and restful weekend. For me – this is like Thursday. Yes, we’re working tomorrow. Working on Saturday. Three pretty unhappy words to put in one sentence! 🙁
About 10 years ago I’d have said – no worries. I’m young. I can deal with it.

Well, fiddle-dee-dee….let’s just worry about that tomorrow, shall we?? 🙂
Today’s card share uses one of the most fun new stamp set bundles in the Occasions Catalog, Bear Hugs – paired with my second favoritist new Designer Paper – the Wildflower Fields DSP in the Sale-A-Bration catalog! Take a look-see:

I got a little artistically licensed, but…close!
I picked my paper design from the Wildflower Fields for the background of the card front and went right ahead and SNAILd it to my Early Espresso card stock mat.
I thought it would be fun to play with the new Shine On Specialty DSP (in the Occasions catalog) while I was at it – shiny fish are a good thing! And I used it for the window …errr….picture frame, as well. I cut that with the Hearth & Home Thinlits Dies (which coordinates with the new Happy Home stamp set) and then I snipped out the inside frame pieces. Cuz I wanted a picture frame not a window frame!
I cut a small panel of the Wildflower Fields DSP and SNAILd it to the card front under where the window frame was going to be placed. I popped the frame over the top of it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped Papa Bear from the Bear Hugs set in Early Espresso ink on a piece of Whisper White. Using my Blender Pen and Crumb Cake ink, I colored him in and then cut him with his matching Bear Hugs framelit. I snipped his little paws apart so I could make him look like he was stepping out of the frame. A combination of Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals got him there. Under his head I actually doubled up the Dimensionals – so he actually looks a little like he’s leaning forward to step out of the frame.
Yes. I know. Bears don’t step out of picture frames.
They probably don’t wear bow-ties either, so…. 😉
The little Honey Pot is another stamp image and matching die in this uber-fun bundle. I stamped the image in Early Espresso and colored the honey with my Gold Wink of Stella and the pot in Cajun Craze (using a Blender Pen). Once I’d cut it out, I used a little Liquid Glue to slide it under the bear’s foot and stick it down.
The fish are all cut with the little fish die in the Bear Hugs Framelits from the Shine On Specialty DSP. I used a couple of different colors to stamp the images – Early Espresso, Old Olive and Pacific Point.
One fish, painted with some Clear Wink of Stella, got mounted with Dimensionals onto a “plaque” built from a piece of Early Espresso and one of Very Vanilla – both had been run thru the Woodgrain TIEF in the Big Shot first. Those pieces were cut with my Tags & Labels Framelits!
The rest of the fish ended up on a line of Linen Thread – with one Love You heart interspersed. The heart is one of the images from Bear Hugs – stamped in Cajun Craze on Whisper White – and cut with its matching die. I just used a little Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere everything to the Linen Thread. For a little extra security, there’s some glue under each fish, and a Dimensional under the one on the left end. Just in case. vA Glue Dot at each end stuck the fishy line to the bear’s paw and the card front – then I added tiny little Linen Thread bows.
The last touch was a Bow Tie – Crumb Cake ink on a piece of the Wildflower Fields DSP and cut with the matching die (in Bear Hugs).
The inside is quite simple – a piece of Whisper White, matted on Early Espresso. Then I stamped the sentiment from Bear Hugs in Early Espresso ink. Across the bottom swims a little school of stamped-off-once-on-scrap-paper fish in Pacific Point. And just for fun, I gave the middle fish some Calypso Coral lipstick! 🙂
I SNAILd it into my Calypso Coral card base and did the same with the card front. And that was it for the card!
The Whisper White Medium Envelope got more of the stamped-off Pacific Point fish – all except the middle one. I did him (her?) full strength and added the lipstick again….
…and, of course, I used another piece of the pin-striped Wildflower Fields DSP to cut a liner with my Envelope Liner Framelit.
Et Voila! A card that I think would work very well for any guy in your life for almost any occasion. I think it would be a great Birthday card. Or Father’s Day. Or Valentine’s! Or it would even be a fun card to slip inside your special someone’s lunch when he’s headed off for a day on the lake. 🙂

Great card! Does the bear live in this house or did he just bust through the window to enter the house? Just curious. I am a big fan of window frames. Your striped window frame is great!

Thanks for the update! That makes perfect sense. Unfortunately bears breaking in happens in real life. But the SU bear was just hungry but friendly and would not hurt anybody. 🙂
