Good Blog-Hop-Thursday-Morning to y’all!  I hope you’re ready for some beautiful projects from all the Ladies-Who-Hop.  We added a new hopper to the list for your creative enjoyment – Heather Wright-Porto is our newest addition.  Be sure to check all of them out – links are below!

This week was a sketch challenge….

Pretty wide open, huh?  Well, it gave me a great chance to try a little something that I saw out on Pinterest.  Wonderland  – one of my favorite stamp sets! – done in….Night of Navy!  Not what you’d expect – but, it looks awesome, especially when paired with some Crumb Cake.  Take a look-see:

Peaceful Wonderland 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I started by inking up the Wonderland forest image in Night of Navy and stamping it a couple of times on a Crumb Cake panel – without inking between the stamps.  Instant depth!  I did that a couple three times, until the woods looked suitably impassable.

I added several (okay, a TON!) of snow flurries using the Gorgeous Grunge smallest splatter image, inked with Whisper White Craft Ink.  I went all over – and some of the “snow” got a little….blue.  I hate sad snow, so I touched up a few of them with my Signo White Gel pen – and added some accumulating snow on some of the trees while I was at it.

Peaceful Wonderland 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I wrapped a piece of the pretty Holiday Catalog 3/8″ White Glitter Ribbon around the panel, securing it with a little Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue under it on the front, and again on the back.

At that point, I spied a Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper Delicate Ornament that I’d cut out a few weeks ago but not used.  I’m sure I’ve mentioned that I might be a little bit of a pack-rat?!! 😉  You guys all hang on to those kinds of things, right?  Anyway – there it was – just calling my name.  And it occurred to me that it would be a fun and pretty little embellishment for my Night of Navy Wonderland!  So, on it went, with some more of the Liquid Glue!

The sentiment is from Peaceful Wreath, heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder AND Iridescent Emboss Powder.   First, I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of Night of Navy card stock in Versamark.  I sprinkled it with the White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  Then I heated it until the powder melted and then quickly sprinkled the Iridescent Ice Emboss Powder on the hot white powder.  I heated that as well – and ended up with a gently sparkly sentiment – in clear white on Night of Navy! 🙂

Peaceful Wonderland 8 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I cut the sparkly sentiment out with my Washi Label Punch.  To make the mat, I used a strip of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper – cut to be the same width as the Washi Label Punch – and I stuck each end into the punch – from the BACK! – so that I could get the Washi-end on both sides of a longer-than-the-punch-would-make mat.  Of course, I could also have just cut the paper out with the punch, and then cut it in half and glued it on the back of the sentiment…duh!  I totally just realized that as I was typing.  Stream-of-consciousness blogging…..

Anywho….I adhered the glimmer mat to the back of my sentiment with the Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue and then popped it onto the card with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added the Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the sentiment and a Winter Wonderland Embellishment to the top my Delicate Ornament.

I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig and added a Wonderland Pine Bough in Craft White ink to each corner of a Night of Navy mat.  You can see that I let the mat frame be wider than usual – to allow for this little embellishment.  I let the craft ink dry, and then SNAILd the Crumb Cake focal image onto the mat.  The final touch was to pop the card front onto my Crumb Cake card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the front was done!

Peaceful Wonderland 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers

On the inside, I used a piece of Whisper White and SNAILd it to a mat of Night of Navy.  Then I stamped the sentiment from To You & Yours Too in Night of Navy.  I also added some Night of Navy pine boughs from Wonderland across the bottom.

Peaceful Wonderland 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers

You know I blinged up an envelope, right? 🙂 So, first off, I stamped some pine boughs in Night of Navy on the front of a Whisper White Medium Envelope.  I love this image – perhaps best out of all of the great images in this stamp set (Please, Stampin’ Up! – PLEASE bring Wonderland into the next Annual Catalog.  Please!!)

Peaceful Wonderland 5 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I also added a few more of them to the back of the envelope.  And, I stamped them onto a Night of Navy envelope liner – cut with my Envelope Liner Framelits – in Craft White Ink!  It looks like the blue Christmas plates that hung in our kitchen in Colorado while I was growing up – and still hang in my Mom’s Colorado mountain home to this day!

Peaceful Wonderland 6 - Stamps-N-Lingers

Pine bough overload??  I don’t think that’s really possible!! 🙂

Et Voila!  Who knew that Night of Navy could build a forest?  Hardly even makes sense – but it really seems to work.

P.S.  Do you know the saying “Be careful what you wish for!”?  Well, for I-can’t-tell-you-how-many years I wished for my little Katy cat to want to be on my lap.  Now, she does.  Always.  No matter what I’m doing.  If I happen to have the blanket on me – it’s even worse….or better, depending on how you look at it….

Katy

I wish you could see the looks of loathing and disdain that she can bestow upon my hapless computer when it’s in her way! 🙂
