Stampin’ Up! Leaflets and Vintage Leaves and a Golden Thanks

Well, somehow…someway…we’re back at Monday!  I hope that y’all made it thru the time-warp that is the weekend.  We made it just fine – had a nice time with some friends on Saturday evening at their annual bonfire.  Beautiful evening and good friends.  Even made driving home in the dark (something we don’t do a lot of!) very much worth it! 🙂

My share today is inspired by a design from Freshly Made Sketches.  Their sketch #209 is very clean and simple and elegant.  Head over and take a gander when you get a shot.

FMS 209 Sketch

I saw a lovely card that Mary Fish made with this design – check it out here.  I love her card!  And wanted to use some of the elements in a card of my own.

This one is a Thank You card, using the Leaflets Framelits dies and Vintage Leaves (one of my best bundle buys EVER!).  Take a look-see:

Leaflets Thanks 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I started by cutting the maple leaf out of a piece of Kraft Corrugated Paper, using my Leaflets Framelits die.  Then I made a background for the negative space.

I took a square of Early Espresso and, using my Simply Scored board, scored vertical lines all the way across it.  Then I turned it about 45 degrees, and made lines again, which cross the original lines in a cross-hatch design.  It looks like quilting to me! 🙂

I SNAILd the dry-embossed panel to my Early Espresso card base, and then popped the die cut Corrugated Paper over it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used a Glue Dot to add a Gold Basic Metal Button in the middle of the leaf’s negative space.  On top of that, I adhered a triple-bow (2 lengths of Gold Metallic Thread and one of Linen Thread) with another Glue Dot.

I cut the sentiment out of Gold Foil, with a Hello You Thinlits die and adhered it with little dabs of Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.  And that was it for the front!

On the inside, I stamped the matching leaf from Vintage Leaves in Early Espresso on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  I stamped the image off once on my Grid Paper before stamping the card stock.  Then I SNAILd it to a piece of Gold Foil and that was all it needed.

For the envelope, I used a Crumb Cake Medium Envelope and, stamping off once on the Grid Paper, added another Early Espresso Vintage Leaf on the front….

….and for the liner, I cut a liner with my Envelope Liner Framelit, from Early Espresso card stock.  Then I again used my Simply Scored board to repeat my cross-hatch dry embossing before I put it inside the envelope….

….to yield a pulled-together coordinating card and envelope set!

Et Voila!  Hope you like! 🙂
