Good morning! Happy Sunday – I hope that your weekend is going well! Today’s share uses two stamp sets – Versatile Christmas and Wonderland. I combined them with some Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum and Kraft Corrugated Paper, added a dash of Gold Foil and ended up with a card that has just a bit of glitz. And uses a perennial favorite for me – pine cones! Take a look-see:
The design for my card was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #204. Do be sure to go over there and see what all their talented folks have come up with for this sketch, okay?
I started by SNAILing a piece of Kraft Corrugated Paper to a Gold Foil Sheet mat and then putting that onto my Mossy Meadow card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The center vertical element is a piece of the gold pine cone Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum Stack paper, adhered with Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to a mat of Mossy Meadow card stock. I put the little dabs of glue behind the gold pine cones – so that the glue doesn’t show thru to the front. Then I SNAILd that to the card front.
For the art piece, I pulled out the Versatile Christmas stamp set. I started by stamping the sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink onto a piece of Very Vanilla card stock. I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to get it where I wanted it – and in preparation for the next step I had up my sleeve. I made sure the ink was dry, and patted the card stock with my Embossing Buddy. My plan was to do a second stamp of the word “Rejoicing”, very slightly offset from the first stamp, and emboss it in gold. I taped off the words I didn’t want, inked the stamp with Versamark, and – using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig – stamped the second image. I sprinkled it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.
The result is a gold, lightly raised sentiment, with a Mossy Meadow shadow. And I think it looks pretty danged cool!
The pine cone branches are from the ever-so-cool Wonderland set. I inked the image with Mossy Meadow, stamped it off once on my Grid Paper, and stamped it on the card stock. I did that twice.
The ribbon accent comes from the new Holiday Catalog Gold 3/8″ Glitter Ribbon. I adhered a piece of 1/2″ wide Mossy Meadow card stock to the art piece with SNAIL. Then I wrapped the ribbon around – securing it with a line of Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue on the front and some scotch tape on the back. Finally, I wrapped some Linen Thread around the whole thing three times and tied a little bow. I stuck that little bow down with another dab of Liquid Glue.
I popped that onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals – and the front was done!
The inside is a piece of Very Vanilla, matted onto a piece of Gold Foil. Then I heat embossed the Versatile Christmas sentiment in Gold and added another Wonderland pine bough (again stamped off once on my Grid Paper).
I used a Crumb Cake Medium Envelope to complete the set and I embellished the front of it with two Wonderland pine boughs, heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.
And, because I could and it just seemed so….right!….I used my Envelope Liner (the largest one, for SU! Medium Envelopes) to add a liner from a piece of the Holiday Catalog Winter Wonderland Specialty DSP.
Et Voila! What do you think? I hope that you like it as much as I do.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend – I’ll be back in your Inbox bright and early tomorrow! Only a couple more days to avail yourself of the Weekly Deals – don’t miss out on the Thinlits if you don’t already have them in your stash! 🙂
TTFN….

Beautiful card Mary! I love the off-set detail of the sentiment. Great color scheme too! 🙂
Thanks, Amy. I actually did the sentiment twice. First time I offset/embossed the whole thing. Not so Bueno. The “with you” made my eyes hurt all doubled up! Second time was the charm. 😊
You had me at the pinecones…surprise! But the whole card is perfect in every way.
Thanks, Mom. I figured it might appeal to you! 😊
Gorgeous card – love the texture!
Thanks so much! 🙂
This is definitely a “WOW” card for me, Mary! Super elegant and love the off set with gold. I have got to try that. Beautiful work, girl!! I pinned it immediately.
Thanks, Kathy! Glad you liked it! 🙂
Everything about this card and envelope is stunning! It’s so elegant both inside and out. The details, the design, the textures… I love it! Thanks for sharing with us at Freshly Made Sketches!
Thanks so much, Cindy! 🙂
