Well, safely home. No more trips until….well, just about this time next month. And then again about a month after that and then again in November and December. Guess it’s business-trip season, huh? It does look like I’ll be home for Thanksgiving this year, so that’s cool!
Watching some television – well, duh – you now know my dirty little secret. We LIKE television shows!! But, I just saw that Walmart is busy telling everyone to get busy buying for Christmas! Yikes.
I decided to go away from Christmas themed cards for just a minute. More Fall-ish, to match the weather. And, I used some items from the Annual Catalog – since those are things you can get right NOW! I pulled out some Bohemian DSP and paired it with Vintage Leaves and a few other classic goodies. Take a look-see:
So – this was an easy-peasy card to make. It really lets the Bohemian DSP shine thru. I started by simply SNAILing two pieces of DSP to a Delightful Dijon card stock. The dotted paper is a full size piece of the DSP – covering the entire Dijon mat. The second, Mosaic, piece is smaller and SNAILd over the top.
Then I pulled out a new-this-year-in-the-Annual-Catalog fave – Vintage Leaves and their coordinating framelits called Leaflets. Which also coordinate with the coming-on-1-Sept-in-the-Holiday-Catalog Lighthearted Leaves. And you can bundle them with the Vintage Leaves stamp set, too. 15% off and coordinates with TWO stamp sets. Good bang for the buck, yes?
I started by stamping two of the Vintage Leaves maple leaves, in Delightful Dijon, on Delighful Dijon card stock. That gave me a tone-on-tone look that I liked with the strong pattterns of the Bohemian DSP. Then I cut them out with their matching Leaflet. I adhered them with SNAIL to lay in the middle of my card.
The sentiment is from the Hello You thinlits. I cut out three of the Hello die cuts from Rich Razzleberry card stock (yep – I completely stuck with the colors that coordinate with the DSP!). Tip – this is definitely a die that you want/need to use your waxed paper on – or you’re likely to have a heck of a time getting your cool words out of the die! I stuck ’em all together with little bits of Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue. This gave them a little heft and helped them to stand up to the rest of the card.
I adhered the sentiment to the leaves with more of the Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.
Then I added some of the new Delightful Dijon 1″ Dotted Lace Trim. Now, I played with this for a while. I was a little concerned that the ends of my knot were going to overlap the sentiment. But then, it occurred to me that if I WERE a Bohemian, I’m pretty sure I’d have a big floppy scarf tied around my head with long ties falling down my back. Yes, it’s a stereotype. But it helped me to get okay with my lace and my knot and my floppy ends!
I wrapped the lace around the card front and tied my knot, recklessly allowing the ends to fall across the sentiment. And I deemed it good, deciding a liked the way the sentiment was peeking out thru the lace. So I popped the whole thing onto my Bermuda Bay card base, and the front was done!
For the inside, I did a blank piece of Whisper White, with a classic addition of a strip of the Bohemian DSP across the bottom. I just SNAILd a piece of the dotted DSP onto a mat of Delightful Dijon and then to the liner.
Et Volia! A quick card – really, the hardest part was glueing the three Hello die cuts together! – and it’s a great Fall color combination. She says ever-so-humbly! Hope you like!
TTFN and see you tomorrow!
Mary

So pretty Mary! The DSP definitely has a fall “feel” to it, it works perfectly with your leaf images! Fantastic card! 🙂
Thanks loads, Amy!
Wow, that is nice. I have not been a fan of the Bohemian paper, but you have made it beautiful!! I will try using it and adding some of that lace, it makes it so pretty!
Thanks, Jari – it’s a little out of my wheelhouse, too! But, I almost always end up liking it when I do use it! Have fun! 🙂
