Good morning, y’all It’s Thursday, which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. We’ve got a Theme challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table. I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!
I figured Thanksgiving – being in the Fall – qualified for our theme this week – so…I used the new Thanks & Giving stamp set – plus some pretty new Autumn Opulence Specially DSP to make just such a card. And there’s some Lustrous Leaves REVERSE Copper Hot Foiling, too! Take a look-see:
And here’s the challenge!
I started by adhering a 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of new Autumn Opulence Specialty DSP to the front of my Golden Glow card base using Liquid Glue.
Since Stampin’ Up! told us early on that they’d be bringing out a way for us to be able to use the LEFTOVER Hot Foil – I’ve been keeping all my “negatives”. So, I pulled out one such negative – the pretty Lustrous Leaves on Copper Hot Foil.
I used the Stampin’ Hot Foil System and the new Reverse Hot Foil Die to add my Copper negative to the light side of a piece of Golden Glow Two-tone Cardstock.
Then I cut it out with the next-to-largest Everyday Arches die. I used the largest Everyday Arches die to cut out a Cajun Craze mat, to which I adhered the foiled arch with Liquid Glue. Then I adhered it all to the card front with more Liquid Glue.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere a 1/2″ x 3 1/4″ strip of the Autumn Opulence Specialty DSP (the Pecan Pie grid design) to the card front and then a 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ piece of Cajun Craze Autumn Opulence Specialty DSP.
On a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped the Thanks & Giving acorn, Happy Thanksgiving sentiment and three little pumpkins in Early Espresso Ink. I stamped the wheat image in Golden Glow ink.
Using Watercolor Pencils – I colored the images:
– Acorn: the top with Early Espresso and Pecan Pie Pencils and the body with Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry pencils.
– Sentiment: Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry pencils
– Pumpkins: Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry pencils.
Using my Detail Scissors, I cut out all the images.
I used the dies in the Lustrous Leaves set to cut out three Golden Glow leaves and two Very Vanilla leaves.
I tied a Linen Thread bow – using THREE lengths of thread – and adhered it with Liquid Glue.
Then I adhered the acorn with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals and the sentiment with Liquid Glue and double-stacked Dimensionals.
I tucked the die cut leaves in and around, using Liquid Glue to adhere them. Then I added the pumpkins – with Liquid Glue and (for the one tucked under the sentiment on the left side) with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
I added five Cajun Craze Painted Patch Adhesive-backed Dots and the card front was done.
On the inside, I stamped a second Thanks & Giving sentiment and a little pumpkin in Early Espresso on a Very Vanilla panel. I colored the pumpkin with Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry Watercolor Pencils. I added a little “ground” under the pumpkin with the Pecan Pie Watercolor Pencil.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Golden Glow card base and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the little Thanks & Giving pumpkin on the front…
…and more of the Autumn Opulence Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Oh – I do love this Thanks & Giving stamp set – the images are so pretty and the fonts in the sentiments are some of my faves!! The rich colors of the Autumn Opulence Specialty DSP are perfect for ALL your Fall projects. I’m SO happy that SU! got the Reverse Hot Foil Die out for us so fast – it means no more wasted foil. And who wouldn’t want to use every bit of those beautiful Coppery Lustrous Leaves?!
