Stampin’ Up! Morning Star You’re The Best Thanks!

Good morning, all!  Hoping that this – the 435th day of April – finds you well.  And caffeinated.  And chocolate-i-fied.  And dealing as well-as-can-be-expected in self-social-isolation.  Appears that GA is opening up – slowly! – starting on Friday.  Thank goodness – I’ve been anxiously waiting for the tatoo-parlors to open back up.

Say…what now??

Yes.  Hair and nail salons.  Tatoo parlors.  Massage therapists.

But we’re to continue to practice the good social behaviors we’ve been doing.

Interested to see a hair cut – massage – or manicure from….six feet away. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I doubt it will matter – won’t be able to get a hair appointment for 3 months anyway!! 🙂

So.  Card.  Let’s do that!  I used the sweet Morning Star stamp set – which coordinates with the Stitched Stars Dies – to make a sweet little thank you card – or friendship card. No stars in sight – just….petunias!  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one was inspired by the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge this week.

And the color palette is from the Global-Design-Project challenge.

This one is a quick and easy card – with a little fussy cutting.  Don’t be scared! 😉

I started with a Whisper White panel that I stamped across the bottom a few times with the cool vine image from Morning Star – in Mint Macaron.

I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy and added another leaf image in Mint Macaron. Aren’t those leaves and vines pretty?  I love them!

I embossed the panel in the Tufted 3D Embossing Folder and matted it on Night of Navy for the card front.

I stamped the large Morning Star petunia in Melon Mambo on Whisper White and fussy cut them.   I edged each of the flowers with my Melon Mambo Stampin’ Write Marker, then popped them all onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A few Night of Navy gems from the Holiday Rhinestone pack finished off the card front.

On the inside, I added a second sentiment in Night of Navy, a few Mint Macaron vines and leaves, and the smaller petunia image from Morning Star in Melon Mambo on a Whisper White panel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Night of Navy mat and into my Mint Macaron card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got vines and small petunias on the front…

…and the pretty vine image on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I do love petunias – and these images in Morning Star are beautiful!  I also really like the vines and sentiments!  And don’t forget the Stitched Stars dies that coordinate – and are still available!

Finn Fan Fix

This seemed like a good day for a garden update.  The rain and pretty pleasant weather – well, except for Easter night – has had a pretty electrifying effect on the veggies and fruits!  Check it!

Raspberries and blueberries….

My single rose – it’s got a little bud on it!

Ancho Magnifico Peppers – I saw a video on YouTube about pruning pepper plants.  Seemed to make sense so I did it.  And they’re branching out and getting bushy instead of tall and leggy!  Yeah!

This bed has two Sweetheart Tomatoes training up the trellis.  And mustard and collard greens going gang-busters.  Plus 6 Buttercrunch lettuce plants that I’ve harvested twice now.  They’re doing a nice job as cut-and-come-agains.  I have more starting in the house! 🙂

Two more tomatoes – called Mater Sandwich (cute, huh?) – on this trellis and White Ball Turnips.  A little spinach – I think my seed was a little old and I didn’t get quite the germination I’d hoped for on that.

The bed in the background has a yellow summer squash and a spaghetti squash on the trellis and radishes on the right side.  I don’t love radishes – but they taste pretty good roasted in the oven.  And they’re sort of instant gratification!  I have a couple of Roma tomatoes starting that will transplant there in a few days.

Finally – here’s my French Algarve beans!!  They are growing like crazy!!  Best.  Beans.  Ever!  The bed on the left has Tomatillos – and will soon have some Sweet Basil in their beds – Wayne saw a thing said they were good for pest management, like marigolds, but…they smell wonderful.  And you can eat it! Win win!

So there it is!  So far – so good!

I’m excited to harvest mustard, collards and turnips soon.

Amy – I know you’re jealous.  Sorry, bud – you’ll have to grow your own greens and beans!! 😉
