Good morning, y’all It’s Thursday, which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. We’ve got a sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table. I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!
When I saw the sketch, my brain saw a three-panel card with some pretty DSP and I can’t think of a prettier paper than in the new Valley in Bloom DSP! It’s new and available on 5 May in the May-Aug 2026 Catalog as part of the Valley in Bloom suite. I used it – along with the coordinating Lily of the Valley bundle and some gorgeous Shimmering Dots – to make a pretty birthday card! Take a look-see:
And – here’ the sketch we all used this week!
I started by stamping the Lily of the Valley sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink in the bottom corner of a piece of Crumb Cake Valley in Bloom DSP.
Then I matted the panel on Granny Apple Green cardstock to make the card front.
I cut a 4 1/2″ x 2 7/8″ piece of the DSP into three 1 1/2″ x 2 7/8″ panels – and used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere them (equally spaced – and keeping the design intact) on a 3″ x 4 7/8″ piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock.
Then I adhered the panel to the card front with Liquid Glue.
We’ve got a really cool new embellishment coming in the new catalog 9so…5 May) called Floral Flight Accents.
They’re beautiful black die cuts – with flowers, leaves, butterflies and hearts! Instant silhouettes for all your projects!
I used a Mini Black Stampin’ Dimensional and a little Liquid Glue to adhere one of the smaller butterflies to the card front after lightly curling its wings!
I added some Coastal Cabana Shimmering Dots – part of the suite – three on the butterfly’s body and four on the card front – and the card front was done.
On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment and a pretty floral from Lily of the Valley in Pretty Peacock on a Basic White panel. I colored the flowers with the Light Petal Pink Stampin’ Blend and the leaves with the Light Granny Apple Green Blend. Using the bullet end of the Light Granny Apple Green Blend – I added some doodle-dots around the flower.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Coastal Cabana card base and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Lily of the Valley flower on the front (don’t forget the doodle-dots!)…
…and more of the Valley in Bloom DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Much as I love the darker, more moody colors of the Moonlit Flora DSP – the bright, cheerful colors of the Valley in Bloom DSP is…equally beautiful – in a completely different way! And Lily of the Valley says SPRING IS SPRUNG, doesn’t it?! So stinkin’ pretty!
I hope you like – and I am SURE that you’d already put this on your gotta-have-it list for 5 May!
