Stampin’ UP! Gathering Pop Up Petals Sneak Peek Accordion Thank You Card with Video

Good morning, y’all!  It’s almost the weekend!  We’ve got old friends – from WAAAY back – arriving this afternoon.  They’ll be here all weekend – and it’s going to be awesome to see them.  It’s been much too long!

My card today is one that gives you a sneak peek at a great new bundle available on 4 Nov in the next Online Exclusive release.  It’s the Pop Up Petals bundle and it’s super cute.  I paired it with the Gathering Together DSP (on Online Exclusive available right now) to create a really fun accordion fold card.  Take a look-see:

I was inspired by the Hand Stamped Sentiments theme challenge this week.

I started with a 5 1/2″ x 11″ piece of Timid Tiger cardstock that, using the Paper Trimmer, I scored at 1 3/4″, 3 1/2″, 5 1/4″ and 7″ on the long side.  I folded the 5 1/4″ score line as a valley – then folded the remaining scores into an accordion.

I picked two designs from the Gathering Together DSP and, using Liquid Glue, I adhered four strips to the four narrow panels – and one large piece on the back.

For the small card, I scored and folded a 3″ x 6″ piece of Timid Tiger cardstock at 3″.

Now, it’s easiest to decorate the small card completely before adhering it to the accordion base.

On a 2 7/8″ x 2 7/7″ piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped a Pop Up Petals sentiment in Pecan Pie ink.  In the corner, I stamped the top of the sunflower bouquet and three of the darling little butterflies in Pecan Pie ink.

I colored the butterflies with the Dark Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blend (wings) and Dark Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blend (body).  The flowers are colored with the Dark Daffodil Delight (petals), Light Pecan Pie (flower centers) and Light Mossy Meadow Blend (leaves) Stampin’ Blends.

I adhered the panel to the back of the small card base with Liquid Glue.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered a 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″ piece of wood-grain Gathering Together DSP to the front of the small card base.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped one of the vase images from Pop Up Petals in Timid Tiger ink, the sunflowers and three butterflies in Pecan Pie ink.  Using the dies in the set, I cut them all out.  I colored the flowers and butterflies in the same way I’d done those on the back panel.

I adhered the vase and flowers to the little card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a piece of 5/8″ x 2 1/4″ piece of Basic Beige cardstock, I stamped another Pop Up Petals sentiment in Pecan Pie ink.  I adhered it to the small card front with Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tied a teensy-weensy bow from white Baker’s Twine from the Black & White & Gold Baker’s Twine and adhered it to the vase with a little Liquid Glue.

I added the butterflies with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the small card front was done.

I put a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the inside of the small card – on both short ends – and used them to adhere the card to the accordion and the card was done.  Note: check the video linked below – near the end – to see how to do this part! 🙂

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the butterflies on the front…

…and more of the Gathering Together DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Wow – I love this fun fold!  It’s really pretty easy and it’s a great way to show off our gorgeous DSP – like the autumnal Gathering Together DSP!  And the new Pop Up Petals bundle is super cute – and I love the sentiments!  It’s also got a couple of dies that you can use to create pop-up elements on the inside your cards – be watching for one like that in the future.  Bottom line – get the DSP now and snag the Pop Up Petals bundle as soon as you can (4 Nov for customers – right now for demonstrators)!

I hope you like!
