Good morning, y’all – Happy Tuesday, 17 June 2025!
On this day in 2015 – our goodest boy Buck went to the Rainbow Bridge. We missed him a lot – he was a special kind of guy – and it took us a long time to get past it.
Exactly one year later – on 17 June 2016 – another goodest boy – this one an Australian Shepherd – was born in Tennessee. But we didn’t know it had happened. Didn’t feel a shift in the Force or anything!!
A couple months later – sitting in a very cold hangar in Yuma, AZ monitoring a test, I had reached the conclusion that I was ready for another fur-kid of the canine kind. My friend Jan sent me a …not terribly flattering photo of a young Aussie that was related to HER good Aussie, Scout.
When I got home – and found out that he was still available – we made the decision to go “take a look”.
So, in October – we loaded up the van and headed to Tennessee.
And…this happened.
And he became the star of our show! And you guys fell almost as in love with him as I am. 🙂 Which means…I started taking pictures. And pictures. And videos. And MORE pictures. SO. MANY. PICTURES!
So – I thought that today – on his 9th birthday (gulp) – I’d share a…few of them!
But first – in celebration of HIS birthday today and mine on Sunday – I thought we’d ALL celebrate with Double Peppermints!

Yes, I did go to the Finn Fan Fix and was not disappointed. Happy birthday, Finn! You were such a cutie as a pup and that cuteness has never left. You’re a handsome man now and loved by so many…if you only knew! Buck was a handsome boy too. Thank you, Mary, for sharing all these pics…it never gets old. Unfortunately, your birthday card needs to be taken to the post office cuz I’m sure it’s too thick and heavy for a regular stamp. I can’t get there until tomorrow and hopefully it will get to you on time or soon thereafter. We all know what the mail service is like. Have a blessed week.
