Stampin’ Up! Ocean Layered Thoughts Sneak Peek Birthday for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a color challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

So – our color combo today screamed FRIENDS OF THE OCEAN DSP!  Not wanting to buck the flow…I pulled it out!  And the coordinating Ocean Friends stamp set and die bundle (these are on the Last Chance list so…get ’em while you still can!).  But – I ALSO thought it would be fun to give you a sneaky look-see at the fun Layered Thoughts sentiment set that you’ll be able to get in the 2025 – 2026 Annual Catalog when it goes live on 6 May!  Take a look-see:

And – guess what our colors were?!  I feel like I got them all! 🙂

I started with some Friends of the Ocean DSP that I adhered to the front of my Calypso Coral card base using Liquid Glue.

I matted a piece of the DSP – all starfish-y – on Summer Splash cardstock and added it to the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using the big coral die from the Ocean Friends die set – I cut out a piece of Lemon Lime Twist paper from the Pastel Ombre Glimmer Paper pack.  To get the die cut to do what I wanted on the card front – I snipped it down to two smaller pieces – and adhered them to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On a Basic White panel – I stamped the big – and very cool! – sentiment from the new Layered Thoughts stamp set (available on 6 May) in Calypso Coral ink.

I matted the panel on Summer Splash cardstock and adhered it over the coral with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using the die in the Ocean Friends set – I cut out a GALAXY of starfish (“Galaxy” is what a whole herd of starfish is called.  You’re welcome).  I cut three of each in Berry Burst, Summer Splash and Calypso Coral cardstocks.

I adhered the starfish here and there on the card front using Liquid Glue.

For a watery finish, I added some Holographic Resin Dots (these are new Online Exclusives – available on 6 May!) and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the two-step sentiment from Layered Thoughts in Calypso Coral on a Basic White panel.  I stamped “you” first and then “to” (tip – do it on your grid paper first – so you can see how long the finished sentiment will be and can stamp your panel accordingly!).  Then I added some sweet little bubbles from the Ocean Friends set in Summer Splash ink.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Calypso Coral card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got some Summer Splash Ocean Friends bubbles on the front…

…and some starfishy Friends of the Ocean DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  You are going to love this new Layered Thoughts stamp set – the sentiments are big and cool looking and will do the bulk of the work for you!  Just add a fun DSP – like one of my faves, the Friends of the Ocean DSP – and you’re in business!  Of course, you might ALSO add some fun underwater elements from the Ocean Friends bundle (assuming you get it before it’s gone from the Last Chance store!). 😉
