Stampin’ Up! Shadowed Delightful Corners in Bloom Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I pulled from three places for this card today!  The Everyday Arches Die set – an Online Exclusive – perfectly frames the fun Shadowed Shapes image and sentiment (Jan-Apr 2025 Mini).  Floral Delight DSP (also from the Mini) is a great starting point and the Corner in Bloom stamp set (Sale-a-Bration freebie) – finishes it off!  Whew!  But – it all comes together like it was…meant to be!  Take a look-see:

And – here’s the sketch we were working with this week.

I started by adhering some wunnermis Floral Delight DSP gingham to an Early Espresso mat for the card front.

On another piece of the DSP – it looks just like burlap, doesn’t it?!? – I stamped the little flower from the Corner in Bloom set in each corner in Early Espresso ink.  You can get this stamp set for FREE between now and the end of Sale-A-Bration with a $120+ purchase!  Yeah!

Then I matted it on Early Espresso cardstock and adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the arched image from Shadowed Shapes in Early Espresso ink.  Note: I liked the vintage-y weathered look I got – but…if you want your image more “solid” – be sure your ink pad is well inked – and do a test on scrap paper first to be sure! 🙂

Using the 4th-from-smallest Everyday Arches die, I cut out the image – leaving space under the stamped image.

In Real Red ink, I stamped the Shadowed Shapes sentiment below the stamped image.

Using Watercolor Pencils, I colored the negative spaces in the image.  I used Real Red for the strawberries, and the Granny Apple Green pencil for the stems and leaves.  With the Garden Green Watercolor Pencil, I added some darker green to the leaves to add some depth.

I adhered the image to the card front using Liquid Glue.

I added some – okay….FIVE!) – Tiny Bee Trinkets and the card front was done.  Note: I used little dabs of Liquid Glue – but you can ALSO use scrunched up Glue Dots if that works better for you! 🙂

On the inside, I stamped the pretty corner flower garland from Corner in Bloom in Early Espresso ink in the corner of a Basic White panel.  Using Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green and Garden Green Watercolor Pencils, I colored the image.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of my Real Red card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Corner in Bloom image on the front…

…and more of the Floral Delight DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I really love the Shadowed Shapes stamp set – the two pretty “negative” stamp images are perfect for clean and simple cards – with two handy sentiments to go along with!  I love how it paired up with the Floral Delight DSP – some of my favorite DSP ever!!  And – the fact that the Corner in Bloom stamp set is FREE (with $120 purchase) – is icing on the cake for this gorgeous, floral all-image set!  Isn’t free YOUR fave price, too!!?  Finally – I’ve mentioned the exceeding handiness of the new Online Exclusive Everyday Arches die set, haven’t I?  Well – here’s another example of WHY!! 🙂
