Stampin’ Up! Snowy Wonder Tent Fold Desk Caddy for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a THEME challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

Our theme is very cool and one that I was so happy to see!  I decided to make a Tent Fold Card using Snowy Scenes DSP and the coordinating Snowy Wonder bundle – which has become one of my fave suites in the new Sep-Dec 2024 Mini catalog.  Take a look-see:

Oh – did I forget to mention that…it’s a desk caddy?

It’s a desk caddy!  With a little 2025 calendar on one side – and a sticky note-and-pen holder on the other!

I KNOW!

Here’s that challenge!

I started with a basic tent card in Shaded Spruce cardstock. For the “tent mechanism” (the piece that folds up and holds the two sides together) – I scored a 4″ x 4″ square of the Shaded Spruce cardstock at 1/2″, 2″ and 3 1/2″.  I folded the square – Mountain, Mountain, Mountain – and then used Liquid Glue to adhere each of the 1/2″ tabs to the bottom inside of the card base.

I matted a piece of the Snowy Scenes DSP on Poppy Parade cardstock and then adhered it to one side of the card.  I’d gotten some little 2025 tear-off calendars from Amazon and I used Liquid Glue to adhere one to a Shaded Spruce mat and then to a Poppy Parade mat.

I adhered the whole thing to the top of the card front with Liquid Glue.

I stamped a tree image from Snowy Wonder in Shaded Spruce ink on a piece of Basic White and used the matching die from the set to cut it out.  I also used a die from the set to cut out four Pool Party trees.

Then I fussy cut one of the cute snow globes from the Snowy Scenes DSP.

I adhered one Pool Party tree and the snow globe to the card front with Liquid Glue.  Then I adhered the stamped tree and a second Pool Party tree with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the Snowy Wonder sentiment in Poppy Parade ink – then I popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and that first side was done!

For the second side, I first matted another Snowy Wonder DSP design on Shaded Spruce and then adhered it to the top of a Poppy Parade mat.

To make the sticky note holder, I cut a piece of Poppy Parade cardstock to 2 3/4″ x 5 1/2″.  Using my Paper Trimmer, I scored on the long edge at 1/2″, 1″, 4 1/2″ and 5″.  Then I turned the panel one-quarter turn and scored at 1/2″ and 1″ on ONE short side.

I used Paper Snips to trim out the two bottom squares on both ends.

Then, I cut each of the remaining squares into “tabs” and then added Tear & Tape Adhesive.

I folded the score lines and used the Tear & Tape to fold and adhere the flaps into a three-sided box.

I pulled off the Tear & Tape cover and used it to adhere the box to the Poppy Parade mat.

I matted the same Snowy Scenes DSP on Shaded Spruce and adhered it to the front of the sticky note holder with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the house image from Snowy Wonder in Pecan Pie ink and cut it out with the die from the set.

Using Daffodil Delight and Poppy Parade Stampin’ Write Markers, I colored the windows and the door of the cabin.

I cut out a Shaded Spruce tree and used Liquid Glue to adhere it to the front of the sticky note holder.

I adhered the die cut cabin and the remaining two Pool Party trees with Stampin’ Dimensionals and…this desk caddy was DONE!

Et Voila.  Ohhhh – I am so tickled with how this turned out.  It was kind of iterative.  I wanted to do the calendar side but then…I thought it would be cooler if it had TWO sides so…away I went!  I am really loving the Snowy Scenes DSP – I love the designs – I love being able to cut out images using the Snowy Wonder dies – and I love the colors.  It’s kind of turned into one of my favorite sets!! 🙂

I hope you like!
