Stampin’ Up! Wildly Flowering Spotlight Hello Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a Color challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

The colors in our challenge pointed a big, giant arrow at the pretty Wildly Flowering DSP – from the Annual Catalog and ON SALE this month! – so I went with that as a starting point.  Then I pulled out the Spotlight on Nature bundle to have a little fun!  Take a look-see:

And – here’s that color challenge!

I started by embossing a panel of Wildly Flowering DSP in the Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder (an Online Exclusive!).  I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Early Espresso mat for the card front.

Using the large banner die in the Nested Essentials die set,  I cut out two banners from a piece of Moody Mauve Wildly Flowering DSP.  I cut each of them into two pieces.  I adhered one “top” near the top of the card front using Liquid Glue – and the banner-end of the second die cut near the bottom of the panel.  Note:  you MIGHT be able to get away with just using one of the banners but…by cutting two, it just made it easier when I made the card.  🤷‍♀️

The Spotlight on Nature die set has four circle dies with a “ribbed” edge.

I cut two large circles, one medium and one small from the Wildly Flowering DSP.  You can see from the photos which DSP patterns I cut.

I adhered the die cut circles to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I tied a double-loop Linen Thread bow and adhered it with some Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the leaf image from Spotlight on Nature in stamped-off-once Mossy Meadow ink.  Over it, I stamped the sentiment in Wild Wheat ink.

Using the medium Spotlight on Nature circle die, I cut out the sentiment and used double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it over the Linen Thread bow.

I added some new Druzy Adhesive-backed Elements in champagne (these are new in the Sep-Dec 2024 Mini and they’re wunnermus – so sparkly and pretty!! – and you can get them on 4 Sept!).  And – that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I stamped the Spotlight on Nature leaves in Mossy Meadow on a Basic White panel.  Using a Blender Pen, I colored the flowers with Moody Mauve ink – dipping the tip onto the ink pad and then adding the color to the shading marks on the image.  I used the pointy tip to add Moody Mauve doodle dots, too!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of my Mossy Meadow card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Spotlight on Nature leaves (and doodle-dots!) on the front…

…and more of the Wildly Flowering DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  The Wildly Flowering DSP is so pretty – it really does all the work on this card.  Of course, the Spotlight on Nature bundle is pretty awesome, too – those circle dies are the bomb – and make this card easy and ALSO peasy to create!
