Stampin’ Up! Snowy Sweetest Star Sneak Peek Christmas for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

The new Sept – Dec 2024 Mini catalog – which you’ll be able to order from on 4 Sep! – has TWO super cute punch bundles in it.  I used one of them – the Sweetest Star bundle – and some more Snowy Scenes DSP for todays card!  Take a look-see:

And – here’s our sketch! 🙂

I started by adhering some pretty pink snowflake paper from the Snowy Scenes DSP onto a Real Red mat for the card front.

I cut a strip of candy-cane paper from the same pack and the cut it into two pieces at an angle (a very RANDOM angle!).  Then I matted both pieces onto a Real Red mat and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I tied a simple bow from two pieces of new Real Red & White Baker’s Twine (coming on 4 Sept in the new catalog) and adhered it to the DSP strip with a Glue Dot.

On a piece of Pecan Pie cardstock, I stamped the Sweetest Star gingerbread-starman in Versamark Ink, sprinkled it with white Embossing Powder and heat set it with the Heat Tool.

When he was cool, I used the Simply Scored Scoring Tool to score from each point – to the center.  And then scored from each “valley” (between the points) to the center.

I folded the point-scores as mountains and the valley-scores as…well…”valleys”.  🤷‍♀️

I added three small Real Red & White Adhesive-backed Peppermints (I LOVE these – and you will, too, when you can get them on 4 Sept!) and then used double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals at the center of the star to adhere it over the bow.

On a small strip of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Sweetest Star sentiment in Pecan Pie ink and then used dimensionals (single on the left side and double-stacked on the right) to adhere it to the card front.

I used little dots of Liquid Glue to adhere some new White Loose Snowflakes (I told you in my Pre-Order Reveal Video that I’d probably do that – and…do it I did!) – and the card front was done!

For the inside, I used the snowflakes image from Sweetest Star to stamp in Petal Pink in two corners of a Basic White panel.  Then I stamped the sentiment in Pecan Pie ink.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of my Pecan Pie card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Petal Pink snowflakes on the front…

…and more candy-cane Snowy Scenes DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Okay – this Sweetest Star bundle is one I ALMOST didn’t get on my pre-order.  I thought…that’s goofy.  Okay.  It might be a little goofy.  But the OTHER word for goofy is….cute-as-it-can-be!  Well – that might not be the DEFINITION of “goofy” but…this bundle IS uber-cute!!  I love this gingerbread-starman and there’s a Santa and Mrs. Claus, too!  And making the star 3-D is easy – and opens up lots of fun possibilities.  Be sure to check out the adorable WREATH sample in the catalog when you get it, okay!?  And I think you’re already seeing how pretty – and versatile! – the Snowy Scenes DSP is, huh?!
