Stampin’ Up! Winterly Trees of Winter Sneak Peek Double-Z Fold for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a theme challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

We’ve got a few bundles with birds in them in our Annual Catalog but…I wanted to play with the new Nests of Winter suite – coming in early September in the Sept – Dec 2024 Mini Catalog!  It features the Winterly Tree Tops bundle, the Nests of Winter DSP and the amazing Birch 3D Embossing Folder.  And for this one, I made a Double-Z Fold thank you card.  Take a look-see:

And – here’s our theme!

And I pulled some elements from the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge this week. I went across the top (sparkle-twine-butterfly) and down the right side (butterfly-fun fold-markers).  And – I got the middle square, too!  It’s yellow – not Paul Lynde! 😎

I started with two pieces of Copper Clay cardstock – the larger card is 4 1/4″ x 11″ – scored and folded as a “Z” at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″ on the long side.  The second, smaller card, is 3″ x 9″, scored and folded as a “Z” at 3″ and 6″.

I matted three pieces of the birch bark design paper in the new Nests of Winter DSP on Balmy Blue using Liquid Glue and adhered them to the panels on the large card.  I did the same with smaller pieces of the DSP – adhering them to the three panels on the small card.

On a piece of Gray Granite cardstock, I stamped the Winterly Tree Tops sentiment in Copper Clay.  Then I cut it out with the next-to-largest square Stylish Shapes die.  I embossed it in the Birch 3D Embossing Folder – coming in September – and then adhered it to the front panel of the small card.

I stamped a pussy willow from the Winterly Tree Tops set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock and cut it out with the next-to-largest square Stylish Shapes die.  I colored the image with the Light Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends and the Light Pecan Pie and Copper Clay Blends for the branch portion.

Then I used Liquid glue to adhere the die cut to the third panel of the small card base.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the two-bird image from Winterly Tree Tops in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I cut it out with the coordinating die in the bundle Winterly Tree Tops die set.

Using the Light Daffodil Delight, Light Balmy Blue and Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blends, I colored the birds.  I colored the branch with Light Pecan Pie and Light Copper Clay Blends.  The berries are colored with the Light Copper Clay and Light Cajun Craze Blends.

Before adhering the die cut birds, I added the small card to the large card.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the folded-up small card to the center of the back panel of the large card…

…then I unfolded the small card and added Liquid Glue to just half of the BACK side of the front panel of the small card.

With the large card closed, I closed the small card – which finished the adhering process!

Using Liquid Glue – I adhered the die cut birds to the front of the small card.

Then I tied a little bow from some new Copper Clay Natural Tones Linen Thread (this is part of the Suite coming in September) and adhered it with a little Liquid Glue.

Then I added some Brushed Brass Butterflies – to the front and on the small inside panel.  And a few Gray Granite Earth Tones Shimmer Gems (ALSO in the new Suite and ALSO coming in September!) cuz they’re really pretty! And with that the front of the card was done.

For the waaay back, I stamped and colored the pussy willow image a couple times on a piece of Basic White cardstock.  Then I added a couple Brushed Brass Butterflies.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the back of the card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the stamped and colored pussy willow branch on the front…

…and some more Nests of Winter DSP on the envelope flap!
