Stampin’ Up! Country Flowers Sneak Peek Triple Flap Criss Cross Card for the SU Demos Fun Folds Blog Hop

Good morning everyone! Welcome to this month’s Fun Folds Blog Hop for Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators!  We’ve got a talented line-up and…I think you’re going to like what you see!  This is a once-a-month hop and…all our cards will be fun folds!!  How cool is that?!?

For todays fun fold – I did a cool Triple Flap Criss Cross fun fold – and it’s a great fold for displaying pretty designer paper like the Country Woods DSP – part of the Country Woods Suite in the upcoming 2024-2025 Annual Catalog (you’ll be able to get these goodies on 1 May!).  I added a few sentiments and flower-filled pots and kettles from the Country Flowers bundle, too!  Take a look-see:

The front layout was inspired by this week’s MFT Sketch Challenge!

I started this one by making a basic gate fold card.  Starting with a 5 1/2″ x 11″ piece of Basic Beige (this is a new addition to our Basics family – like white, black and vanilla – and it’s really pretty!), I used my Simply Scored Scoring Tool to score on the long side at 2 1/8″ and 6 3/8″.  I folded both score lines “in” – aka…a typical gate fold. 🙂

I matted two darker pieces of the new Country Woods DSP

…on Petal Pink mats and adhered them to the two “gate” panels”.

The triple criss-cross panels are three 1 5/8″x 3 7/8″ pieces of Petal Pink cardstock, with three pieces of Country Woods DSP adhered to them with Liquid Glue.  This design is wood-grain in Misty Moonlight.  Pretty!

I closed the gates and then used Liquid Glue on HALF of each of the matted panels to adhere them to the gates.  The top and bottom matted panel are adhered on their RIGHT sides and the center on its LEFT side.

This is a kinda blurry picture but…it shows how things turn out…

To decorate each panel, I used the Country Flowers die set…

…to cut out two pots and one kettle from two Petal Pink designs in the coordinating Country Lace DSP (part of the suite – and available on 1 May)…

…and I adhered them to the three panels with Liquid Glue.

Using the flower and leaves dies in the set, I cut out about a florist-shop’s worth of flowers from Petal Pink and Basic White cardstock and a similar number of leaves from Pool Party cardstock.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the flowers and leaves to the top and bottom panels.

A picture is work a thousand words so…here the top pot.  Tip: the Petal Pink flowers on this one came from the circle-of-flowers die in the Country Flowers set.

And here’s the bottom panel – with all individual flowers:

For the middle panel – I again adhered everything with Liquid Glue.

I added a small Linen Thread simple bow with a little dab of Liquid Glue.

The sentiment – from Country Flowers – was stamped on Basic White in Misty Moonlight ink.  Then I snipped the three words out with my Paper Snips.  I used a Petal Pink Stampin’ Write Marker to “edge” each little word – and adhered them to the panel with Liquid Glue.

I added a small Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewel to the center of each flower – and a bunch of small Brushed Brass Butterflies – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second Country Flowers sentiment in Misty Moonlight on a Basic White panel.  In the corner, I added one of the pretty floral images in Misty Moonlight.  I colored it with my Dark Petal Pink and Dark Pool Party Stampin’ Blends, and the small flowers with my Petal Pink Stampin’ Write Marker.  And…One. Tiny. Butterfly.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Petal Pink mat and into the Basic Beige card base and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Country Flowers image on the front…

…and more Country Woods DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Y’all!  I do NOT know what I love the MOST about this new Country Woods Suite.  I’ll say that the Country Woods DSP is a SOLID contender for being #1!  Hey SU! – let’s keep this wunermus paper around forEVER!!  And the stamped and die-cuttable florals from the Country Flowers bundle are….perfect for all those country-vintage cards! There’s a second paper pack – the Country Lace DSP – in this suite and it really adds a sweet touch with its Petal Pink designs!!
