Well – it’s here! It’s the very last day of 2023! Wow – this year has flown! When next we “speak” – it’ll be 2024! Happy New Year!
I hope you’ll have a safe and sane evening as you welcome 20224. Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do, okay? Which basically means…dont’t stay up past about 10pm! I sometimes roll over and wake up enough at midnight-ish to realize that the year has turned. But that’s about all there is – and it’s totally hit-or-miss! 🤷♀️🤷♀️
As you know, we went down to visit Matt and Katelyn yesterday. I’d realized last week that we’re VERY close to needing a Welcome card for the newest arrival! To that end, my card features two Sale-a-bration (aka FREE!) products – one is the adorable Cradled in Love stamp set and the second is the beautiful Flight & Airy DSP! BOTH are $50-level rewards! And – on the inside, there’s a perfect sentiment from the Charming Sentiments stamp set. Take a look-see:
I started with a piece of Flight & Airy DSP (FREE during Sale-a-Bration with a $50 order before shipping & tax) that I cut into a triangle with my Paper Trimmer.
It started as a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of the paper – in Lost Lagoon (which I discovered yesterday is going to be perfect!) – I cut across the diagonal with the Trimmer to make the triangles.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered one of the triangles to the front of a Lost Lagoon card base.
To make the mats – on the front and the inside – I pulled out the new Perennial Postage dies. These are coming soon in the Jan – Apr 2024 Mini Catalog.
I used the next-to-largest die to cut out a Soft Sea Foam panel – which I adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.
Using Stampin’ Seal, I adhered a loop-de-loop of Lemon Lolly ribbon from the 3/8″ Sheer Ribbon Combo Pack (available now in the 2023-24 Annual Catalog).
On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the images from the Cradled with Love stamp set. This is ANOTHER of the possibilities from which you can choose with a $50+ order during Sale-A-Bration (4 Jan – 29 Feb).
I stamped the rug near the bottom in Pretty Peacock ink. Then I stamped the crib, mobile holder and the mobile itself in Pecan Pie ink.
– I used the Pecan Pie Watercolor Pencil and Light Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blend to color the crib and mobile holder.
– The rug was colored with the Soft Sea Foam stampin’ Blends.
– I colored the blanket and bumper inside the crib with Soft Sea Foam and Lost Lagoon Stampin’ Blends.
– I colored the ring of the mobile with the Light Lost Lagoon Blend.
– The star and moon in the mobile is colored with Daffodil Delight Blends.
– The whale on the mobile is colored with the Light Soft Sea Foam Blend.
For the sentiment, I stamped them in Pecan Pie ink – the sentiment encompasses several sentiments in the Cradled in Love set. The “Welcome,” is PART of one of the sentiments – I carefully inked JUST those words on the stamp.
Then I popped the completed panel over the ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
On the inside, I stamped the Charming Sentiments sentiment – it’s kind of perfect, don’t you think!? – in Pecan Pie on Basic White cardstock. Across the bottom, I added the adorable little hephalump in Pecan Pie a few times across the bottom – and colored them with Lost Lagoon or Soft Sea Foam Blends!
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Soft Sea Foam mat (cut with the largest Perennial Postage die set) and then into the card front and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Cradled in Love hephalumps across the bottom of the front…
…And more of the stunning Flight & Airy DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Green is the new blue (or pink!), y’all! And that makes this card the perfect color palette for the newest tiny human (who will be called….Bowen!) The Flight & Airy DSP is stunning – with fussy-cutable sweet tweeters and other papers like this gorgeous Lost Lagoon paper strewn with vines! Cradled with Love is going to be a wonderful set for you to have on hand for baby showers and/or baby arrivals! Finally – I feel like I’ve already said how much I love the Perennial Postage set but….Let me say it AGAIN! I LOVE this die set!

Finn Fan Fix
We had a REALLY nice day yesterday – it was long, but it was wonderful to see Matt and Katelyn and get to spend some time with them.
We did our Christmas gifts and it was a VERY Merry Christmas for me and Wayne!
The wonderful picture and matching mug are from Matt and Katelyn – I love them and love that picture of the Man!
And Chris and Courtney gave us the two tumblers – engraved with his sweet self! Chris even did the engraving himself!
Wonderful reminders of Finn AND the kids!
Jan found the too-cute shirt so that I can proudly proclaim my Aussie mom-ness! 🥰
Perfect all they way around!

Such a sweet card! Love the cradle image, perfect colors too! What a great gift! Love the mugs!
Thanks so much, Amy! 🙂
This baby card has to be the best layout I’ve seen in years while doing cards. It’s adorable. thanks for sharing.
Finn, such a beautiful dog and I love reading your stories about him. I’m a dog lover
Thank you – I borrowed the layout from the sample in the Sale-A-Bration catalog and modified it for my color palette! 🙂 I’m so happy that you enjoy Finn’s ramblings! Thank you so much! 🙂
Adorable card!
No pic to see?
Will welcome 2024 asleep – hopefully – 🤷
Best to all in the year about to dawn.
Thanks, Mom! No – we didn’t do pics really – well, a few of Riley (their lab!) and HE may make an appearance soon! Thanks! 🙂
Lovely baby card. I especially like the angle cut DSP background.
Didn’t get this set as there is absolutely no one in my family except for one nephew with a 10 month old, that would possibly be having a baby. Everyone else is either too old, too young, or not in any kind of relationship. Seems odd, since babies dominated for many years. It will come around again, but I still don’t need this stamp set. You did a beautiful job with it though.
Thanks so much, Julie – it IS handy that the stamp set is FREE!! 🙂
