Stampin’ Up! Marigold Moments Mother’s Day for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a timely theme challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table – I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I think flowers and Mother’s Day are about as Spring-y as you can get, don’t you?  So…I used the wunnermus Marigold Moments bundle – with some pretty Rain or Shine Specialty DSP to help make it even Spring-ier! – to make a Mother’s Day card!  Take a look-see:

And – I guess I gave away the theme we played with, huh?

I used the Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge for my layout.

I started by adhering a pretty piece of Rain or Shine Specialty DSP to a Mango Melody mat for the card front.

Next, I picked a few patterns from the DSP pack and cut five 3/4″ wide strips.  I stacked them up and cut banners into one end (I cut them all at once so they’d all be the same!) using my Paper Snips.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the strips to the card front.

Next, I picked one more Rain or Shine DSP pattern for the vertical strip on the left side, matted it on Mango Melody and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

Using the larger oval frame die in the Framed Florets Die set, I cut out a Basic White frame.  I saved the frame for another card – and adhered the oval from the middle onto the card front with Liquid Glue.

Then it was time to make flowers and leaves!

I stamped the large flower image and three single flowers from Marigold Moments on Basic White cardstock – using Mango Melody for the detailed image and stamped-off-once Crushed Curry for the second “fill” image.  Then I cut them all out with their matching dies.

I stamped the leaves in Granny Apple Green on Basic White cardstock and added the detailed vein image in Shaded Spruce.  I stamped two of the small two-leaf images  and one of the multi-leaf and stems image…

Finally, I cut two of the detailed leaves dies in Shaded Spruce cardstock.

Then I built the “bouquet”.

I adhered one single flower (near the top of the oval) and the large floral die cut with Liquid Glue.

Then I added the other two single die cut flowers with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tucked the leaves in here and there, securing them with Liquid Glue.

I tied a simple bow from Parakeet Party Baker’s Twine Essentials and adhered it with a little bit of Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Mango Melody, I stamped the Marigold Moments sentiment in Shaded Spruce and then I adhered it over the bow with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere some Pale Papaya Loose Flower Flourishes and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second Marigold Moments sentiment in Shaded Spruce on a Basic White panel.  In the corner, I stamped the large Marigold Moments floral in Mango Melody and stamped-off-once Crushed Curry.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mango Melody mat and into my Flirty Flamingo card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the large Marigold Moments floral image on the front…

…and more of the Rain or Shine Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Oh – I DO love the Marigold Moments bundle – almost as much as I love the REAL Marigold flowers! Its two-step flowers and leaves are just gorgeous!  The Rain or Shine Specialty DSP is a perfect backdrop for the pretty florals, don’t you think?!?
