Stampin’ Up! Cottage Wreaths Soft Seedlings for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday (AND THANKSGIVING!!) – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  We’ve got a great sketch challenge (have I ever mentioned that sketch challenges are my fave??) to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table – I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I decided to pay homage to the day and make a card that expresses how we should all be feeling today!  And – not coincidentally – let me play with one of my favorite stamp sets of all time – the Soft Seedlings set!  And – one of my other top faves – the Cottage Wreaths bundle – played a strong supporting role.  Take a look-see:

And – here’s our sketch!

I also played along with the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge this week! I sort of think I swept the board… 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

My friend and teammate – Carol Buckalew from Inky Bee Stampers (who is hopping with us today!!) – recently made a card with the Soft Seedlings stamp set that was so beautiful – I had to borrow her technique!  So…I did!  🙂

I started by adhering a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock on Mossy Meadow for the card front.

On another piece of Very Vanilla, I stamped the stunning Soft Seedlings leaf image in stamped-off-once Pumpkin Pie and then in So Saffron.  How many times did I stamp?  I dunno – just keep stamping (and overlapping the images – that’s important!!) until your heart smiles and says – THERE IT IS! 🙂

Then I matted the panel on Mossy Meadow and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Very Vanilla, I stamped the Cottage Wreaths twig wreath image in Mossy Meadow.  Over the top, in stamped-off-once Mossy Meadow, I stamped the full leafy wreath image.  Without re-inking, I turned the stamp a little bit – and re-stamped it (so…now you’re at third generation stamping)!  Then I cut it out with the matching Country Wreaths die.

I used another die in the Country Wreaths set to cut out an Old Olive detailed wreath, which I adhered to the stamped wreath with Liquid Glue.  Then I popped the whole thing onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used the fun bow die in Country Wreaths to cut a bow from Distressed Gold Specialty Paper, which I adhered to the wreath with a little Liquid Glue.

On a Very Vanilla strip, I stamped the Soft Seedlings sentiment in Pumpkin Pie ink, matted it on Mossy Meadow and popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I colored some vanilla Classic Matte Dots with my Dark Mossy Meadow Stampin Blend – and added them to the sentiment.  Then I colored some more of the dots with the Dark Cajun Craze Blend – and adhered them to the wreath – plus one more large one in the middle of the bow.  And – the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second Soft Seedlings sentiment in Pumpkin Pie on a Very Vanilla panel.  Around it, I stamped the Country Wreaths twig image in Mossy Meadow and the full-leaf image over the top in stamped-off-once Mossy Meadow.  Then, without re-inking, I turned the stamp a little bit – and re-stamped it.  Does this sound like…exactly!?…how I did the wreath on the front?  That’s cuz it is! 🙂

I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the panel to a Mossy Meadow mat and into my Old Olive card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the Cottage Wreaths wreath on the front – guess how I did it?? 🤔🤔🤔….

…and then I stamped the large Soft Seedlings image on the envelope flap in So Saffron and stamped-off-once Pumpkin Pie!

Et Voila!  Oh – how I DO love the Soft Seedlings stamp set – do you feel the same??  And the Cottage Wreaths bundle is so good – covering Fall, Halloween and Christmas so perfectly!
