Stampin’ Up! Snowman Magic Aglow for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  We’ve got a fun sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table – I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I got a new bundle the other day – yes, I AM behind in my bundle-acquisition! – called the Snowman Magic bundle.  The Snowman Dies in that bundle have a great die that creates a snowy window – and my brain “saw” that window when I saw our sketch.  YOURS may not – but…MINE did!  So…out it came – along with more of the Lights Aglow 6″ x 6″ Specialty Paper.  Take a look-see:

And here’s the sketch.

Did you notice that this is a shaker card?!  Well – it IS!

To start off, I matted a piece of Lights Aglow 6″ x 6″ Specialty DSP to a Basic White mat using Liquid Glue.  Then I adhered the matted panel to the front of my Evening Evergreen card base using Liquid Glue.

Next up, to create the shaker element – I cut the Snowman window die from a piece of white paper from the Red & White 6″ x 6″ Glimmer Paper pack.  Using Liquid Glue – SPARINGLY!! – I adhered a same-size piece of Window Sheet to the back of the die cut.

Then I added Foam Adhesive Strips all the way around the edge of the die cut – it’s on top of the window sheet layer.

Here’s how it looks from the front!

Using a Basic Borders die, I cut a “snow bank” from the same white Glimmer Paper – and adhered it in the middle of the card front with Liquid Glue.

Then I sprinkled some Sparkle & Shine Sequins in the middle of the card front…

…and carefully adhered the “window” over the top!

Using the two tree dies in the Snowman die set, I cut out three pine trees from Evening Evergreen and two of the bare limbed trees from Basic Black cardstock.

These I adhered to the top of the window using Liquid Glue (again – be SPARING!!).

I cut out three Snowmen from the white Glimmer Paper.  And three top hats from the black paper in the Metallic & Shimmer 6″ x 6″ Specialty Paper.  These are adhered to the top of the die cut snowmen with Liquid Glue.

I adhered the three snowmen to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On a strip of Evening Evergreen cardstock, I stamped the Snowman Magic sentiment in Versamark Ink, sprinkled it with white Embossing Powder and heated it up with the high setting on my Heat Tool.

When the powder was cool (and no longer smudgeable!), I snipped banner ends on the strip and adhered them over the snowman with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the sentiment banner and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second Snowman Magic sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a Basic White panel.  In the corner I added the three-tree image from the set in Evening Evergreen ink.  Then I added a single Rhinestone Basic Jewel by the sentiment.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic White mat and into the card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Evening Evergreen trees from Snowman Magic on the front…

…and more of the Lights Aglow 6″ x 6″ Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  So…I was going for a cold winter evening, with some friendly snowmen in a monochromatic forest.  Did I hit the nail on the head or….is the nail still at the hardware store?? 🤷‍♀️  I love that beautiful snowflake-y window and the trees created with the Snowman Dies – with the addition of the sweet wintery sentiments from the bundled Snowman Magic stamp set.  I’m sorry for using the Lights Aglow DSP again so soon, but….I totally HAD to! 🙂
