Stampin’ Up! Country Cottage Halloween Wreath for the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all – welcome to another edition of the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team blog hop!  Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month our theme is “Halloween Fun”!  We can interpret that any way we want – so…be sure to check and see everyone’s projects – we’ve got a bunch of talented ladies hopping with us this month!

I thought a nice spooky (not really!) wreath – with a spider and everything! – would be great for Halloween.  So…out came the Cottage Wreaths bundle – with the fun Country Wreaths dies.  And – the Black & White Designs DSP seemed like a pretty good way to get it started.  Take a look-see:

I used some elements in the card thanks to the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge this week. I went down the middle (orange/rust – Free – Layers) and down the right side (Sentiment – Fall Colors – Black) AND across the bottom (Any Shape Die – Layers – Black).  Over-achiever much, Mary?! 😉

I started with some star-strewn paper from the Black & White Designs DSP that I adhered to the front of a Basic Gray card base with Liquid Glue.

Next, I used the fourth-from-largest die in the Stitched Rectangle Die set to cut out a piece of Basic White cardstock.

I stamped “BOO” from the Country Wreaths stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and adhered the die cut to a Mango Melody mat.  Then I popped it onto the card front with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using the two dies in the Country Wreaths die set – I cut out the less detailed wreath from a piece of black paper in the Metallic & Shimmer 6″ x 6″ Specialty Paper.  I adhered the wreath to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I cut the detailed wreath from Mango Melody and adhered it over the first die cut with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Cottage Wreaths spider in Tuxedo Black and cut it out with the matching die in the Country Wreaths set.

I used a Glue Dot to adhere a short length of black Baker’s Twine from the wreath to just below the sentiment panel.  Using small pieces of Black Stampin’ Dimensionals – I adhered the spider over the bottom end of the Twine (web!).

I used the bow die from Country Wreaths to cut out a bow from the Cajun Craze Metallic & Shimmer 6″ x 6″ Specialty Paper and popped it over the twine on the die cut wreath using Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I colored some Rhinestone Basic Jewels using the dark Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black Stampin’ Blends.

I adhered the black jewels to the wreath – the bow got a large rhinestone in the center – and the Pumpkin Pie jewel by the sentiment – and the card front was done.

On the inside, I used the two wreath stamps from Cottage Wreaths to stamp a Mango Melody and Tuxedo Black wreath in the corner of a Basic White cardstock panel.  I added the spider and then used a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to draw in a web.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mango Melody mat and into the Basic Gray card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Cottage Wreaths wreath and spider on the front…

…and more of the Black & White Designs DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Just one.  Single.  Spooky.  Spider!  That’s all that was needed – well, and BOO! – to turn a fall-ish Cottage Wreaths and Country Wreaths die cut wreath into a Halloween beauty!  And the Black & White Designs is just sort of…perfect!
