Stampin’ Up! Happiness Abounds Wonderful in Every Way with Video Tutorial

Good morning on weekend-eve!  Do you have fun plans this weekend?  I think we’ve got “get hay” on the list – but…might have to wait till we see how the rain chances REALLY are – they seem to change every time we check! 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I was honored to be selected as the Featured Artist for a fun As You See It challenge this week and I decided to go back to the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog for my card – showcasing the gorgeous Hues of Happiness suite!  The Happiness Abounds stamp set and bundled Blossoming Happiness die set worked hand-in-hand with the Hues of Happiness DSP.  Take a look-see:

And – here’s the As You See It challenge – I hope you’ll play along this week!

And the layout is from the Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge.

I made this card on yesterday’s Facebook Live video – and if you’d like to take a look at it – here ’tis on YouTube!

I started by watercoloring a Thick Basic White panel.  I dropped a little re-inker on an acrylic block – added a little water with a Water Painter – then swept the color across the panel.  The bottom is Granny Apple Green and the top is Daffodil Delight.  I dried the cardstock with the low setting on my Heat Tool (I’m impatient that way!).

I placed two small floral image stamps from the Happiness Abounds set onto one acrylic block and then stamped it all over the panel with Daffodil Delight ink.

When the whole panel was covered, I used the largest rectangle die in the Scalloped Contours Die set to cut out the card front – which I adhered with Liquid Glue on a Thick Basic White card base.

I used the largest square Stylish Shapes die to cut out a Basic White square.  In the corner, I stamped the Happiness Abounds sentiment in Melon Mambo ink.

I wrapped white Baker’s Twine twice around the side of the square, securing it in the back with a Glue Dot.  Then I popped the square onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using the dies in the Blossoming Happiness die set, I cut out three flowers – one each in Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Flirty Flamingo.  The Flirty Flamingo is the smallest flower – and I adhered it with Liquid Glue.

I added the other two flowers with a couple three Stampin’ Dimensionals at the top of the flower – then tucked the leaves in using Liquid Glue to adhere them.

I tied a simple bow around the Baker’s Twine with two more lengths of white Baker’s Twine, added a single Daffodil Delight Glossy Dot and the card front was done.

On the inside, I cut a piece of the Hues of Happiness DSP with the largest Scalloped Contours die and adhered it with Liquid Glue.  Using the fifth-from-smallest Stitched Rectangle die, I cut a Basic White panel.  I stamped the second Happiness Abounds sentiment in Melon Mambo, then stamped the small florals from the set in Daffodil Delight in the corners.  I adhered the panel to the DSP die cut with Liquid Glue – and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Happiness Abounds flowers in Daffodil Delight on the front…

Et Voila!  I LOVE when Stampin’ Up! makes beautiful DSP images that we can cut right out with a handy die set – and I think they really truly knocked it out of the park with the Hues of Happiness DSP and coordinating Happiness Abounds stamp set and bundled Blossoming Happiness dies, don’t you?!  I mean – there are so many flowers and leaves to cut out (with NO fussy cutting!) that you can create a veritable garden wherever you like! And – I’ve used a few die sets here that I think EVERYONE NEEDS in their craft room: Scalloped Contours, Stylish Shapes and Stitched Rectangles.  These workhorse sets will NOT steer you wrong! 🙂Stampin' Up! Finn Fan Fix

We smoked some brisket and ribs yesterday – it’s nice to have packets of them in the freezer for those days when 1630 rolls around and I get that deer-in-the-headlights look that means…ruh-roh…what the heck are we having for dinner?!!? 😳😳😳

It’s hard to smell that smoking meat for the amount of time it takes to get done.

And it’s WAY harder when you’re a dog with one ZILLION scent receptors!  Poor Finn!

WE ended up with…

HE ended up with…

…the pan that we put the chopped brisket in.

He totally made the most of it! 🙂
