Stampin’ Up! More Love Notes & New Horizons

Welcome back to the work week!  Hope your weekend was good – and productive.  We got a lot of plantlings planted – got a few more to go, but…we made a dent, for sure!  I’ll post pics when we get it more done and looking all pretty and stuff! 🙂

When you spend much of the day (or two days!) in the garden – it’s good to have a simple card in your brain bucket!  And – I did, cuz I’d been seeing this one since I saw the sketch challenge.  I love the More Love stamp set – it’s got one.  Big.  Sentiment.  And that is all!  I added it to a pretty piece of New Horizons DSP and…done!  Take a look-see:

The sketch that inspired this one is from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  I’d sort of forgotten how big and bold the big, bold sentiment is, so…I flipped the sketch to accommodate!

And the color palette is from the Color Throwdown challenge.

I started with a piece of Fresh Freesia paper from the New Horizons DSP that I matted on Soft Succulent to make the card front.

I put a smaller panel of Very Vanilla cardstock into my Stamparatus and used it to stamp the More Love image in Early Espresso ink.

Using the Light Fresh Freesia and Light Soft Succulent Stampin’ Blends, I colored the flowers and leaves in the image.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the panel to a Soft Succulent mat – you’ll notice that it’s got an extra large border on the top!

I wrapped some Very Vanilla twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack twice around the top of the panel, securing it in the back with a little bit of Stampin’ Seal.

I popped the sentiment panel onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used two lengths of the Very Vanilla Baker’s Twine to tie a small bow and adhered it in place with a Glue Dot.

A few Fresh Freesia gems from the 2021-2023 In Color Jewels finished off the card front.

On the inside, I stamped just a tiny piece of the More Love image up the side of a Very Vanilla panel in Early Espresso ink.  I did it by covering all but the part of the image that I wanted with a sticky note and inking the image with the Early Espresso ink pad.  Then I removed the sticky note (do NOT forget this part!!) and stamped the panel.  I did that three times.  When the ink was good and dry, I colored it with the Light Fresh Freesia and Soft Succulent Stampin’ Blends.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Soft Succulent mat and into my Thick Very Vanilla card base, popped the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the partial More Love image on the front – just once…

…and more of the New Horizons DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love single-image sentiment stamps like this pretty More Love set, don’t you?  Big and bold and beautiful – one stamp, a little coloring, and…done!  Add in some New Horizons DSP and a soft and pretty color palette and you’ve got a quick and easy winner!

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

The other night, I was still doing some things in the garden and Wayne let the girls in for dinner.

Well.  He opened the gate and then decided to let them graze around the barn for a bit.

Cuz of how they’re starving in the 20 acres of pasture. 🤦‍♀️

As usual – they did NOT stay by the barn.

Nope – they moseyed over to the garden.  And gave the side-eye to the plants and veggies on the OUTSIDE of the fence.  Now – they wouldn’t LIKE any of them – but…their process of discovering that they don’t like any of them would have likely been…fatal!…to said plants! 🙁

Fortunately, the garden was well protected.

Gotcha covered, Mom.  Not to worry – I won’t let ’em by me!

  1. Such a pretty card! Love the colors and the design is perfect! The poor girls, they were just looking for a little afternoon snack and the garden seemed like the perfect spot to find one. 🙂 Good thing that Finn was on patrol to keep the riff raff out. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

Yup – they’d have had a pick-A-Nick for sure without the man to keep them at bay! Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  2. Charlotte+Hutcheson

I love your garden patch with the cute fence around it. Can’t wait to see it in full leaf. And your card is beautiful.

    • stampsnlingers

Thank you, Charlotte – I appreciate it. And I love how the fence looks – hoping we can keep it all tidy looking! 🙂

  3. Karen Lang

Wow that IS a big sentiment……but I like the card. I am looking forward to seeing your garden…..looks like you have really made a beautiful place for ALL those plants. Also looks like a place I wouldn’t mind just hanging out in & look at all the “fruits of your labor”…….just a little pun there. Good guard dog!

    • stampsnlingers

I see what you did there! Thanks, Karen – I’m looking forward to the fruits AND the just hanging out! 🙂

  4. I love the simplicity of your card, Mary. Really beautiful!
