Stampin’ Up! Flowering Rain Boots for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  We’ve got a sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table – I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I made a card that we all need in our stash (and sort of hope to never need to send!).  I used the Flowering Rain Boots bundle – plus the sweet Gingham Embossing Folder.  Take a look-see:

And here’s our sketch!

A lot of the colors and elements were inspired by the Just Us Girls Challenge this week!  Yes – I KNOW there’s no bunny….

I started by embossing a piece of Basic White cardstock in the Gingham Embossing Folder.

Using the long diamond-strip die in the Rain Boots Die set, I cut three strips – one each in Daffodil Delight, Polished Pink and Balmy Blue.  Using Liquid Glue, I adhered them to the card front.  Then I trimmed the excess from the side with Paper Snips and matted the panel on Polished Pink for the card front.

Using the Layering Circles Dies, I cut a circle from Granny Apple Green Brights 6″ x 6″ DSP and matted it on a scalloped Polished Pink circle – then I adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Flowering Rain Boots boots in Balmy Blue, two bunches of daisies in Daffodil Delight, the tulips in Polished Pink and again in Balmy Blue, the stems in Granny Apple Green, and a flower pot in Polished Pink.  Then I cut them all out with their matching Rainboots Dies.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere one of the bunches of daisies to the matted DSP circle, then I popped the boots over top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I adhered the stems to the top of the boots with Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I snipped the two tulips die cuts, then adhered them to the top of the stems with Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Tip: You’ll let the flowers extend over the top of the card FRONT – so…place it on the card base so that you can ensure that they will NOT extend past the top of the card BASE.

I adhered the flower pot and daisies with Liquid Glue.

On a strip of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Flowering Rain Boots sentiment in Granny Apple Green, snipped banners on both ends, and used Stampin’ Dimensionals and Liquid Glue to adhere it to the card front.

I added a few Brushed Brass Butterflies and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped a second Flowering Rain Boots sentiment in Granny Apple Green on a Basic White panel.  In the corner, I stamped the daisies in Daffodil Delight.  I stamped the flowers again on a sticky note and cut it out to make a mask.  I placed the mask over the flowers on the panel and then stamped the flower pot over it in Polished Pink.  Then another little Brushed Brass Butterfly finished it off!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Polished Pink mat and into my Thick Basic White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Polished Pink potted posies on the front, using the mask again…

…and more of the Granny Apple Green Brights DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This is such a pretty set, don’t you think?  The Flowering Rain Boots has lovely posies and encouraging sentiments – and I love that everything has a matching die in the Rain Boots Die set!  And – the Gingham Embossing Folder creates what looks like – to me! – seersucker.  That can’t be just me?!

I hope you like!
