Good morning, y’all! Hope you have this week off to relax and recharge as we countdown to the end of 2021!
Being after Christmas and all, I was in need of some thank you notes – you, too?? – so I wanted to come up with a pretty little number that could be re-created pretty easily. So…I used a fun Stampin’ Blend technique and a little masking – plus two more new stamp sets from the Jan – Jun 2022 Mini Catalog: Flowing Flowers and Dahlia Days. Take a look-see!
I was inspired to use masking thanks to the technique challenge over at TGIF this week!
I started with a Basic White panel for the card front.
To create my mask, I cut an identically sized piece of cardstock and used a Stitched Rectangle Die to cut out the center (it’s a 2 1/4″ x 3 5/8″ opening).
I used a re-positionable tape runner to adhere the card front to my Grid paper, then used a little more to adhere the mask over top.
Tip: use some washi tape on the back to cover the little stitch holes. That prevents bleed-thru (you know how I know this, right? 🤷♀️).
Using my Soft Sea Foam, Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen Stampin’ Blend Combos, and starting from the bottom…I swiped horizontally across the opening. I used Soft Sea Foam Light, then dark. Soft Succulent Light, then dark. Evening Evergreen Light then dark. That took me to about the half-way mark. Then I reversed it – continuing with the Soft Succulent dark, then light. And ending with the Soft Sea Foam at the top.
I picked up the card front and then used a pretty sentiment from the new Flowing Flowers stamp set (you can get this on 4 Jan in the new catalog!) to stamp the sentiment in Evening Evergreen.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Evening Evergreen mat.
A single new Brushed Brass Butterfly was the finishing touch on the card front!
On the inside, I stamped a sweet sentiment from the Dahlia Days stamp set (ALSO available on 4 Jan!) in Evening Evergreen. Over the top, I stamped one of the leaf images from the set in stamped-off-once Soft Succulent. And…added another butterfly, cuz…I really REALLY love them!
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Evening Evergreen mat and into my Thick Basic White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Dahlia Days leaf in Soft Succulent on the front…
…and a little perfectly coordinating Ever Eden Specialty DSP on the envelope flap!
Et Voila! This is another not-in-Mary’s-wheelhouse card, but..I love it a lot! Think of the possible colors you could use! I am pretty fond of this color palette but..pinks…purples…reds! And I am already loving the Dahlia Days and Flowing Flowers stamp sets – the images and sentiments are GORGEOUS!
I hope you like!
Uhm – in case you’d forgotten – the beautiful Ever Eden Specialty DSP is ONLY around thru the 3rd of January. It does NOT carry into the new Jan – Jun 2022 Mini Catalog! So…if you don’t have a stash of it…best be remedying that right quick! 🙂

Too cute—the card and the pups! TFS
Thanks, Susan! 🙂
Such a cool card! Love the clean design, awesome way to create the Ombre background too! Those puppies are way too cute!! Can’t believe that you didn’t take one home! 🙂
I know. It was HARD! But…Finn wouldn’t have liked it one bit! Thanks, Amy! 🙂
I’m really liking your card too! Those puppies are so adorable.
Thanks, Karen! They are darling!
I REALLY like your card – must give it a try! The puppies! The flappers! I’m glad they all have a home – a little surprised that you didn’t end up with one of them🤣 Hope that you had a very Merry Christmas and that the new year is really good to you (maybe I’ll see you at a SU! event🤞🤞) Have a great week!
Fingers crossed, Elisha – that would be wonderful! And yes – it was SOO tempting to snag one of the little poopers (Higgins, to be exact) for myself. But..this is the best of both worlds! 🙂 Thank you so much! 🙂
