Good morning and happy Sunday! Half way thru the weekend already – it’s that darned time-warp thing again!
We had a nice time at the shower – and it was awfully good to see the kids again – we’d seen Chris and Courtney (the soon-to-be-new parents) at the gender reveal, but…I think it’s been a year since we’d seen Matt and Katelyn. Hopefully it won’t be that long this time! 🤷♀️
If you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live video, I appreciate you spending part of your weekend with me! If not, but you’d like to see how to make this collage card, here ’tis on YouTube!
This card has SOO many of my favorite elements on it – it’s a collage, it’s got the Gorgeous Leaves Bundle AND the Pretty Pumpkins Bundle, too! And some shimmery Gold & Rose Gold Metallic Specialty Paper, to boot. Take a look-see:
The layout was inspired by the Global Design Projects CASE the Designer challenge.
And many of the elements are thanks to the inspiration photo at the Card Concept. I’d call a Freestyle Collage card.
And it’s certainly for an Occasion – and thus works perfectly with this week’s Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.
I started with a piece of Very Vanilla and, in each corner, stamped the wood-grain image from the Gorgeous Leaves set in stamped-off-once Gray Granite ink. I added the smaller splotchy image in stamped-off-once Cinnamon Cider.
On the left-ish side of the panel, I used the baby wipe technique to stamp the maple leaf from the Gorgeous Leaves stamp set. I added drops of re-inker to a flat baby wipe – using Pumpkjn Pie, Cajun Craze and Mango Melody inks. That wipe then became my “ink pad”.
I matted the panel on Very Vanilla using Liquid Glue.
Then, using the Intricate Leaves dies, I cut two large detailed maple leaves from the rose gold paper (from the Gold & Rose Gold Metallic Specialty paper). I also cut two Cinnamon Cider branches. And – I stamped three more of the baby-wipe maple leaves on Very Vanilla and cut them out with their die as well.
I colored one of the Rose Gold leaves with my Dark Pumpkin Pie Blend and the other with my Dark Daffodil Delight Blend.
Then I layered everything onto the card front using Liquid Glue. Tip: only use glue on the bottom ends of the die cuts – leaving the tops “loose”. That lets the leaves and branches pop a little on the card front!
I tied a single loop Linen Thread bow and adhered it with a Glue Dot.
On a piece of Very Vanilla, I stamped the Pretty Pumpkin pumpkins in Cinnamon Cider on Very Vanilla. I cut it with the matching die from the bundled Detailed Pumpkins dies. Then I colored it with my Light & Dark Pale Papaya, Light Cinnamon Cider and Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.
Using double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals, I adhered the pumpkins over the top of the collage.
I stamped a One Happy Family sentiment in Cajun Craze ink on a strip of Very Vanilla, snipped banner ends and adhered it with Liquid Glue. Next to it, I adhered a small Intricate Leaves die cut Rose Gold leaf – colored with the Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blend.
I added some Pumpkin Pie Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels – and the card front was done!
For the inside, I inked the maple leaf with my baby-wipe “ink pad” – stamped it once on scrap paper – and then stamped it in the middle of a Very Vanilla panel.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Very Vanilla mat and into my Thick Very Vanilla card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the same stamped-off-once maple leaf on the front…
…and again on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I can’t help it – this is one of my very favorite kinds of cards – collage cards just make me so happy! And these two bundles – Pretty Pumpkins and Gorgeous Leaves – are absolutely perfect for them! One Happy Family is a wonderful little set – chock-a-block full of wonderful – and handy! – sentiments! The Baby Wipe technique is a super simple way to ink and stamp images – leaves, flowers, backgrounds….and hows about PINE BOUGHS?! I mentioned that in the video – don’t you think it would be awesome!?
I hope you like!
