Stampin’ Up! Wintry Words of Cheer Christmas Card

Happy Happy Hawwwmp Day, y’all!  Well – Fred came and Fred went.  He was a soggy booger but that was about it.  Not even any lightning!  I am not complaining – I promise! 🙂

I pulled out a new bundle to show you today – the Words of Cheer bundle!  It’s got some faves for me – sentiment die cuts and pines!  And I paired it with a little Penguin Playmates DSP.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from the TGIF Challenge this week!

And the color palette is from the Inspire. Create. challenge!

I started with some Just Jade paper from the Penguin Playmates DSP – this is a FREE paper that you can select with a $50+ order (before shipping & tax) while Sale-A-Bration is going on!  I matted it on Night of Navy for the card front.

I matted a smaller panel of Basic White on Night of Navy and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I cut a circle of Basic White using my Layering Circles Dies – embossed it in the pine bough folder of the Wintry 3D Embossing Folders pack – then adhered it with Liquid Glue.

Using the uber-cool dies in the Christmas Cheers dies – bundled with Words of Cheers – I cut the “mat” die in Just Jade and the main sentiment die cut in Basic White.  I adhered them together with Liquid Glue and then to the card front with more Liquid Glue.

I stamped a Words of Cheer sentiment in Night of Navy on Basic White and cut it with my favorite Tasteful Labels die.  Then I popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using several of the Christmas Cheers dies, I cut three large and three small Calypso Coral flowers, three Night of Navy “berries” and three Bumble Bee “sprigs”.  I adhered the “berries” and “sprigs” with Liquid Glue – and adhered the small flowers to the larger ones with Liquid Glue.

I popped all the stacked flowers on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then each flower got a yellow Decorative Matte Dot  – as did the sentiment – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Words of Cheer in Night of Navy on Basic White cardstock.  Next to it, I added some Just Jade holly leaves and more of the die cut flowers, too!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Night of Navy mat and into my Calypso Coral card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got some Just Jade holly from Words of Cheer on the front…

…and more of the Penguin Playmates DSP on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  I am just assuming that this Words of Cheer bundle has been on your must-have list right from the git-go, just like it’s been on mine!  I love good sentiment dies – and this “shadow” look from the Christmas Cheer dies – with the addition of pine-y goodness! – is over the top!  And – don’t forget to turn Designer Series Paper OVER!  Just cuz there’s Penguins all over the place on this free Penguin Playmates DSP – don’t forget there are TWO SIDES!!  And…did I mention it’s…FREE??? 🙂

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Today’s about rain.  And ponies.

When I put them out yesterday morning – it was raining.  Pretty hard.  So…I spent some time hemming.  And hawwing.  And then hemming a little more.

Put them out?  Leave them in?  Out?  In?  Out?

I finally decided on out.  Cuz we have two big run-in sheds in the pasture so it’s not like I was consigning them to the mercies of Fred.

I got busy in the barn – rain still pouring steady.

I happened to look out the back and saw…..

Empty…

Empty…

Yup – smack out in the rain!

Guess I hemmed and hawwed for nothing! 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

  1. Pretty card and I like your take on the sketch. Yep, your girls are still young and like to play in the rain. We had quite a storm here yesterday…worse than Fred!

    • stampsnlingers

Uh-oh! Glad Grace has gone by, then! And glad you’re all okay! Thanks so much, Karen! 🙂

  2. Gerri K

I imagine the ponies thought that rain was pretty refreshing. They look content.
Great card! I sailed right by this bundle in the catalog but now that you brought it to my attention…
    Love the sentiment dies.

    • stampsnlingers

Yes! Glad I could point it out to you – it’s tool cool to miss out on! Thank you so much! 🙂

  3. Pretty card Mary! Love the flower accents and the embossed panel. Yeah, the girls look like the rain isn’t bothering them one bit. 🙂

    • stampsnlingers

Not even a little!! Probably felt good to them! Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  4. Karen L

Maybe they were taking a nice warm shower!! Like us humans like to do once in a while!!!?? Glad that Fred didn’t do any more then make you soggy! Did Finn take one too?? Wet dog smell!! Great card…..just can’t get my head around the idea that the Holidays are just around the corner……need to get my card ideas going so I can get any materials I need before it’s too late. Time…….where does it go??

    • stampsnlingers

I know. It’s absolutely flying by! 🤷‍♀️ And yes – they really enjoyed the rain – probably as much because they knew they could get OUT of it whenever they wanted to! 🙂 Thanks much, Karen! 🙂

  5. Susan K

Beautiful card! I love your colors and take on both challenges.
Yep, the girls seem quite content to be in the rain! Your rain looks steady—ours was torrential!

    • stampsnlingers

It was pretty steady, for sure. Never really torrential, though! Hoping you came thru unscathed! Thanks so much, Susan! 🙂
