Good morning, y’all! It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!! We’ve got a color challenge to work with today and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table! I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!
I decided that the colors in our challenge were really suited for the gorgeous Beauty of the Earth DSP (this one just so happens to be ON SALE right now – save 15%!!) so I pulled it – and the coordinating Beauty of Friendship bundle out to use on today’s card. Take a look-see:
And here’s our color challenge – I think I actually got all 5 (yes, I’m THAT person!)!
And – I needed some layout inspiration, so I turned to The Paper Players!
I started with two pieces of the Beauty of the Earth DSP that I matted on Misty Moonlight. I adhered the smaller matted panel to the larger to create the card front.
Using the die in the bundled Beautiful Trees die set, I cut two trunks from Cinnamon Cider cardstock. To make them a little more realistic, I inked the embossing side of the Bark 3D Embossing Folder with Cinnamon Cider ink, then placed the two die cuts inside and ran it thru my Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine – so they were embossed and inked at the same time! 😉
I popped the die cut trunks onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock I stamped the more solid tree top image from Beauty of Friendship in BumbleBee ink. Then, using the second stamp – the more detailed tree top – I stamped one in Old Olive and the second one in Merry Merlot. Then I cut them both with the die in the Beautiful Trees set – and adhered them to the trunks with Liquid Glue.
I tied a single-loop bow with the Vanilla twine in the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack (this is just like a Double-Loop bow – but…you only wrap around 4 fingers – not the second set of loops around 2 fingers. Make sense?) and adhered it with a Glue Dot.
On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the Beauty of Friendship sentiment in Misty Moonlight and cut it with the label die in the Beautiful Trees set. Then I used a couple of Dimensionals to adhere it over the bow.
I cut two Misty Moonlight cardstock birds using the sweet little die in the Beautiful Trees set and popped them onto the tree tops with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Pretty sure those are the Bluebirds of Happiness! 😉
I added a few gold Metallic Pearls and the card front was done!
On the inside, I added the tree trunk from Beauty of Friendship in Cinnamon Cider on a Basic White panel. Then I added the BumbleBee and Old Olive tree tops. I stamped the sentiment in Misty Moonlight – in a non-standard spot. Finally, I added a single gold Metallic Pearl.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Misty Moonlight mat and into my Merry Merlot card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Beauty of Friendship tree on the front – using the Merry Merlot option….
…and more of the Beauty of the Earth DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Sort of a Fall-ish card, huh? But…I like it! I think this Beauty of Friendship stamp set and bundled Beautiful Trees dies is so pretty – with different “tree options” for your projects. And the coordinating Beauty of the Earth DSP and Bark 3D Embossing Folder (all part of the Suite!) are just stunning!
I hope you like!
