Stampin’ Up! Hand-Penned Flowers of Friendship Thank You

Happy Happy Hawwmp Day, y’all!  How goes the week?  We’ve been busy working on the garden – new water feature and irrigation system.  And making cards!  So – pretty good week for us. 🙂

Now – quick before we get going.  Today is the LAST day for the Last Chance sale!  If there’s anything you want from the Jan – Jun 2021 Mini Catalog – now’d be a good time to go get it, okay?  It’ll be tomorrow before you can blink and then…it’ll be gone-baby-gone!

My card today uses some of the gorgeous Hand-Penned DSP (not coincidentally, this is one of the papers that will go on sale on Thursday, 1 Jul – with a wunnermus 15% off!) and the Flowers of Friendship Bundle.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from the SugarPea Designs Mix-it Up challenge!  Obviously, I only used the sketch!

I started with a piece of Basic White card stock and adhered a panel of Hand-Penned DSP on the bottom portion with Liquid Glue.

I matted the panel on Misty Moonlight for the card front.

I matted a strip of Mint Macaron Hand-Penned DSP on Misty Moonlight and adhered it with Liquid Glue over top of the “seam”.

I stamped the Flowers of Friendship sentiment in Mint Macaron on the white portion of the card front.

Okay.  Time out.  Let me save you some angst here.  I looked at my sentiment and thought – dang it!  I’ve got Finny hair or something on the stamp and it left some stray ink inside the “C”.  So…I cut a small panel and re-stamped it.  Same thing.  So – I squinted my eyes and peered real close and realized…

…my “stray ink” is ACTUALLY the top of the “h” in the “thanks”.  🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️  So…don’t be like me and try to “fix” something that ain’t broke! 😉

Once I got that straight, I stamped the flowers from Flowers of Friendship in Tuxedo Black on Basic White and punched them with the bundled Flowers & Leaves Punch.

I colored the small flowers with my Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Blends Combo and the large flowers with the Daffodil Delight Blends.  The leaves are colored with the Mint Macaron Blends.

I adhered the leaves to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I stacked the flowers with Liquid Glue – then adhered the resulting two Misty Moonlight flowers with Liquid Glue.

I tied a little bow from the Misty Moonlight/Silver Baker’s Twine from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  Then I adhered the Daffodil Delight flower with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I colored the centers of the flowers with my Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Marker and then added a clear Elegant Faceted Gem to the flower centers.  I added a white Gem by the sentiment and the card front was done.

On the inside, I added the large flower from Flowers of Friendship in Tuxedo Black on Basic White.  I colored it with the Daffodil Delight and Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blends Combo.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Misty Moonlight mat and into my Mint Macaron card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Flowers of Friendship flower on the front…

…and more of the Hand-Penned DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  You gotta love a punch bundle like this Flowers of Friendship bundle, huh?  It’s got flowers and pretty sentiments – and a handy punch so you don’t even need a cutting machine!  Add in the Hand-Penned DSP and this card has it all! 🙂

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

We’ve started a morning brushing session – about 20 min is about all either one of us can stand.  I get tired – he gets tired.

When we’re done – he either gets a little game of tug or…better (his words, not mine!)…a peppermint.  Just a little something to soothe the ruffled belly and leg feathers.

He makes it a bit of an…event!

Some of the peppermints are chewier – better (again, his words not mine) – than others.

A video is probably better…

  1. Such a pretty card! Love the little flower punches, perfect with that designer paper. Hope that the detangling/mat removal is going well and that you’re making some progress!! That does look like one chewy peppermint! 🙂
