Stampin’ Up! Wild Cats, Big Cats Birthday

Happy Happy Hawwwmp Day, y’all!  Hope your week is going well!  We’re getting back in the swing – even sort of getting onto the sleep cycle that befits our location (versus Island-time!).  I’ve even gotten on the treadmill two mornings in a row – today is Day 3!  Yeah me!

I hope you’re all taking advantage of the Last Chance Sale – remember that’s all WHILE SUPPLIES LAST.  So…like when you see something at Costco – don’t think “we’ll get it next time” cuz….might not be there when you get back! 😉

My card today is a little on the wild side.  Wild Cats, that is!  And I paired this “wild” set with the bundled Big Cats Dies, cool In the WIld DSP and the Animal Print Embossing Folder – to have a little creative fun!  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one comes from the Global Design Project sketch this week.

And I played along with the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge, too. I went up the diagonal left to right (Die Cut – Twine/Ribbon – Texture).

Finally – I for sure see spots here, so…the Just Us Girls was a good inspiration!

I started by embossing a Crushed Curry panel in the Animal Print Embossing Folder, then brushed it – leaving it splotchy –  with Crushed Curry using my Blender Brush.  Then I matted it on Evening Evergreen for the card front.

I cut two strips of the In The Wild DSP – embossed them in the Animal Print Folder – and adhered them to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Using the Big Cat Dies, I cut some Soft Succulent branches and succulents and some Crushed Curry branches.

I ALSO used the dies in the set to cut the big cat and the two larger succulent images right out of the In The Wild DSP!  I LOVE when dies cut DSP images like this!! 🙂

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the branches to the card front.

Next, I used the Crumb Cake baker’s twine in the new Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack and tied a figure 8 “bow”, which I adhered to the card front with a Glue Dot.

I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the die cut cat over the bow. I adhered the two DSP succulents and two of the Soft Succulent plants with Liquid Glue and Dimensionals.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the Wild Cats sentiment in Cajun Craze and cut it with a Stitched Rectangle Die.  I adhered it with Liquid Glue.

I added the last two die cut Soft Succulent plants with Liquid Glue – and a Dimensional (for the plant closest to you in the picture above) – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the large cat image from Wild Cats in stamped-off-once Cajun Craze on a Basic White panel.  I added his stripes in Merry Merlot (there’s a “face” image and a “body” image in the set).  Then I stamped the succulent image twice in Evening Evergreen.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Evening Evergreen mat and into my Cajun Craze card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Wild Cats images on the front…

…and a little more In The Wild DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  The WIld Cats stamp set – with it’s fierce sentiments and totally cool cat images – is so much fun to play with!  And I do love the bundled Big Cats Dies – ESPECIALLY since they cut those In The Wild DSP shapes!  Whoo-hoo!!  The Animal Print Embossing Folder just brings it all together for a totally WILD creative bump!!

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Finny went with the me and the Dad to the bank today – yes, even he’s got to get back into the daily routine!  No more vacay for him, either!

Fortunately, they “saw” him (he sorta made sure of that!) and he got his bank-bone!

And…a good sniff on the way home.  Checking for interlopers and such, you know!

Interlopers be afraid.  Be very very afraid!

  1. Such a cool card! The colors are perfect, love the layering! Good thing that you’ve got Finn to keep an eye out for the troublemakers. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

Yep – they need to remember what’s what and who’s the boss!! 🙂 Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  2. Janelle Ellison

My Mom was a bank teller and she always passed out dog biscuits!

    • stampsnlingers

They’re good about it as long as they can see him! Sometimes they forget – so we keep a “just in case” bag in the car! Thanks! 🙂

  3. Glad you are getting back in the swing of things. When we came back from HI in 1973, I was sick with jet lag for 2 days.
I LOVE this card. That set is at the top of my list for the next order. Beautifully done!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks – it’s fun! And the jet lag is for sure harder than it used to be! 😉

  4. That’s a wild card! It’s on my wish list. I love seeing pups with their faces hanging out the window, especially Finn’s!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks, Karen – I thought the pic in the side view mirror was funny! 🙂

  5. Great texture and colors, including that handsome tiger, to make one fabulous birthday card, Mary! Glad Finn and his people are getting back to a normal routine LOL! Thanks so much for joining us at the Tic Tac Toe challenge this week!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks much, Stef – it’s good to be back in the craft room! Appreciate you stopping by! 🙂
