Good morning! And happy Sunday! I hope you’re having a great weekend – maybe warming up a bit? We had a gorgeous day yesterday and it’s looking to be the same today. Chilly, yes – but bright and beautiful!

I was playing with some of the sweet FREE goodies from the 2021 Sale-A-Bration catalog…Touch of Ink (a $100-level freebie) and one of my favorite papers – the Flower & Field DSP (a $50-level choice) and decided to make a fun fold that one of my team members had shared. He saw it on Connie Stewart’s video and I just went for it! I added a perfect sentiment from the Happy Thoughts stamp set, too. Take a look-see:
I decided that a butterfly is an animal….ish…so, played along with the theme challenge at the Global Design Project!
I created the pop-up fun-fold part of the card using Flirty Flamingo card stock. It’s a piece cut to 5 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 1 3/4″, 3 1/2″, 5 1/4″ and 7″. Then I cut between the 3 1/2″ and 5 1/4″ scores – at 1 1/4″ from the top and bottom of the cardstock.
I folded the card at the score lines to create the pop up and a back panel. The back panel is adhered to a Basic Black mat.
I cut some panels of Flower & Field DSP and adhered them to the Flirty Flamingo base with Liquid Glue. There’s a smaller – different pattern – piece, matted on Basic Black and then adhered to the inside small panel.
For the sentiment, I stamped the Touch of Ink sentiment in Flirty Flamingo on a square piece of Basic White cardstock. In the corner, I stamped the butterfly from Touch of Ink in Smoky Slate and added the wing-fill image in Balmy Blue. I adhered the panel to a Basic Black mat and then to the pop-up portion of the card base.
I scored and folded a 5″ x 7 1/2″ piece of Basic White at 3 3/4″. Centered on the front, I stamped a sentiment from Happy Thoughts in Flirty Flamingo. Hint – you want this to be covered when the card is closed, so…be sure to stamp accordingly!
I flipped the card inside-out so that I could stamp the butterfly from Touch of Ink in the top left corner. Then I added the flower image in Smoky Slate – with Flirty Flamingo “fill”.
I adhered the back of the card to a Basic Black mat with Liquid Glue – then adhered it all to another Basic Black “card base”.
On the front of the white card, I added two strips of Basic Black-matted Flower & Field DSP with Liquid Glue.
I punched some flowers from Flower & Field DSP with the Small Bloom Punch – added Smoky Slate middles with an eraser (check the video to see how!) and then adhered them with Liquid Glue. An Opal Round in the middle of each flower….and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Touch of Ink flower on the front…
…and more of the pretty Flower & Field DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I can’t tell you how much I love this fold (thanks, Darryl and Connie!) – it really lets gorgeous paper like the Flower & Field DSP shine! Touch of Ink and Happy Thoughts are perfect together and with this paper, don’t you think??
