Good morning, y’all! It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!! We’ve got a wide open theme challenge today and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table! I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!
Since it’s New Year’s Eve – and…I think most of us are quite ready to see 2020 in the rearview mirror – I figured I’d make a cute card along the lines of a few I’ve seen around the interwebs the past week or so. It features Darling Donkeys kicking a Playful Alphabet 2020 to the curb. And it’s all set atop some Flower & Field DSP. Take a look-see:
And here’s our challenge badge!
I also played along with the sketch challenge over at The Spot – I flipped it up on its side.
I started with some fun Flower & Field DSP – this is paper that you’ll be able to get for FREE during Sale-a-Bration with a qualifying $50 purchase – that I matted on Bumble Bee for the card front.
I matted a strip of a second Flower & Field design on Bumble Bee and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.
On a piece of Whisper White, I stamped the cute kicking donkey from Darling Donkeys in Basic Gray. Then I cut it with the next-to-largest circle Stitched Shapes Die. Darling Donkeys is another FREE Sale-A-Bration pick…you’ll be able to get it with a $50 purchase!
I colored the donkey with my Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blend Combo and Light Petal Pink Blend. I added some “ground” with my Light Gray Granite Blend.
Around him – her? – I stamped some “fireworks” from the Darling Donkeys set in Flirty Flamingo. Then I popped the circle onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I used the number dies in the Playful Alphabet die set to cut “2020” in Bumble Bee – then I adhered them to the bottom of the card front – looking suitably kicked-to-the-curb!
Finally – I opened up my Many Messages storage container – if you don’t know what I’m referring to – check it out right here! – and selected the perfect sentiment stamped in Bumble Bee. I adhered it to the card front with a little Liquid Glue.
I added a few new Matte Black Dots and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped a perfect sentimen from Many Mates in Bumble Bee on a Whisper White panel. I added a few “fireworks” in Flirty Flamingo. In the corner, I stamped the Darling Donkey peeking in – and colored it as I’d done the image on the front.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Bumble Bee mat and into my Flirty Flamingo card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Flirty Flamingo “fireworks” on the front….
…and more of the Flower & Field DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! How totally adorable is this Darling Donkeys stamp set?
And having the organizer filled with Many Messages die cut sentiments was handy as it could be!
I hope you like and have Many Messages on your list – with Darling Donkeys and Flower & Field DSP planned for your first Sale-A-Bration $50 rewards! 🙂

This is so cute Mary 🙂 LOVE the 2020 kicked to the curb
Thanks, Karen! Seems appropriate! 🙂
Cute card. Not crazy about that DSP, but you used it well. That donkey is just hilarious! I thought about getting that set just for my brother-in-law who raises mules. Still undecided.I think we are all glad to see 2020 in the rearview mirror.
Well – it’s adorable AND free, so…. easy decision! The DSP is prettier in person – there are actually some really nice designs!! Thanks so much, Julie! “See” you in 2021! 🙂
