Stampin’ Up! Enjoy the Moment Sneak Peek

Good morning, y’all!  Welcome to the week!  It’s a busy one for me with the wedding happening next weekend.  We leave on Thursday – so…I’ve been trying hard to get a little ahead of the game!  With varying degrees of success!  LOL!

But – I’ve got a special surprise – you remember we had our OnStage@home event this weekend and we all got an awesome new stamp set!  This is one that you’ll be able to get in January when the new Jan- Jun 2021 Mini Catalog.  It’s called Enjoy The Moment.  I made a sneak peek for you using it today.  Take a look-see:

And here’s what the set looks like!

Pretty, huh?  And I love the sentiments and their fonts!

I used the FUSION sketch this week for my layout!

One of the demonstrations at OnStage was done by Melody Hyde – a Stampin’ Up! artist – using this stamp set.  I loved her card – and so I attempted to use some of her coloring techniques.

They won’t be hiring me anytime soon…. 😉

I started with a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  Using one of the Water Painters, I colored the panel using Pool Party ink.  I was deliberately not-smooth with the coloring.  Once the panel dried, I embossed it in the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder.

Using the “Friendship is found in simple things” sentiment from the Enjoy the Moment set – I stamped it randomly all over the panel – in stamped-off-once Pool Party ink.  REALLY no rhyme or reason – just stamped it everywhere! 🙂

Then I matted the panel on Soft Suede for the card front.

I stamped the seed pod image from Enjoy the Moment in Soft Suede on a strip of Very Vanilla.

Using Blender Pens, I “pulled” ink out into the image to color it.  Hint: leave the middle-ish of the pods lighter to help it look more 3-dimensional!

With my Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blend – I colored the remainder of the panel.  Then I added a line of “shadow” on the right side of the image.  Using my Color Lifter Stampin’ Blend – I ran up the outside edge of the “shadow” to soften it slightly – but…not too much.  It’s meant to look like the shadow of the seed pods.

What do you think?  Did I achieve my goal? 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I adhered the panel to a Soft Suede mat and then onto the card front with Liquid Glue.

Using Stampin’ Seal – I adhered a length of Early Espresso 1/4″ Faux Suede Trim in a couple of loops.

On another piece of Very Vanilla, I stamped the Enjoy the Moment sentiment in Soft Suede.  Over it – I added another seed pod image in stamped-off-once Soft Suede.

I cut the sentiment with the next-to-largest oval Stitched Shapes die and popped it over the suede trim with Stampin’ Dimensionals – and that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I added the same sentiment that I’d used on the front background in Soft Suede on a Very Vanilla panel.  Then I added the stamped-off-once Soft Suede seed pod over top.  Very simple!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Soft Suede mat and into my Early Espresso card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the single seed pod in full strength Soft Suede on the front.  I used the light Pool Party Blend to add a light shadow below the image…

…and on the envelope flap, I stamped another pod image in Soft Suede and colored around it with my Light Pool Party Blend.

Et Voila!  I wasn’t sure about this Enjoy the Moment set when I first saw it – but…when I saw what could be done with it…I was hooked!  I love how organic all the images are – it’s going to be perfect for masculine cards – and the sentiments and fonts are nice without being froofy!!  I think you’re going to want to be adding this one to your gotta-have it list!!  I hope you like!

  1. Ohhh, that’s beautiful Mary! Love the colors that you used, perfect! The tag-a-longs don’t seem to bother Finn one bit and I’m sure that he has no idea why you stop him to brush them out…they’ll fall out eventually (or stick to the carpet or blankets or anything else fabric in the house). No need for brushing. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

Yep – he manages to shed it off like water drops almost as soon as he gets in the house! LOL! Thanks so much, Amy! 🙂

  2. Oh, my! A Velcro dog! I suppose Wayne gets to do the un-velcro-ing while you are wedding-ing. HA!
I like your card, and your shadowing is better than Melody’s, IMHO. Great stamp set.

    • stampsnlingers

Well – that is very kind, indeed! A little biased, maybe – but very sweet. And no – Finn ejects it in the house. 😉

  3. Yes, you achieved your goal and then some. This is lovely!

  4. Susan K

Pretty card. I like your use of the stamp set. I would not have bought this set but have already used the sentiments and with your card, it’s growing on me! TFS.

Right? The demo at OnStage is what sold me on it! Thanks so much, Susan! 🙂

  5. Lovely take on the sketch. Interesting stamp set and it appears that there are a lot of ways to use it. Thanks for playing along at The Fusion Card Challenge.
