Stampin’ Up! Wonderfully Wicked Winter Woods!

Happy happy HAWWWMP Day!!  Whoo-hooo!!

I’ve got another Halloween card for you today – I’ll quit soon, I promise!  This one uses one of my favorite things – the Wonderfully Wicked stamp set and bundled Wicked Dies.  And I paired it up with some Monster Bash DSP and…the Winter Woods stamp set.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one comes from this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge.

And I played along with the Just Us Girls Trend Week challenge.

I started with some spider-y paper from the Monster Bash DSP, matted on Gorgeous Grape card stock for the card front.

On a piece of Basic Black, after rubbing it with my Embossing Buddy, I stamped the Winter Woods trees image in Versamark Ink.  Then I sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heated it with my Heat Tool.  Then I cut it out with the largest smooth-side oval in the Layering Ovals Dies.

I cut the oval frame from the Heirloom Frames Dies and 3D Embossing Folders set from another piece of Basic Black.  Then I put the die cut frame inside the corresponding folder and embossed it in my die cutting machine.

I lightly rubbed my Silvery Shimmer Delicata Metallic Ink pad across the raised embossed pattern on the frame.  Then I used my fingers to gently round the frame.

I adhered the tree-embossed oval to the card front with Liquid Glue, then popped the frame over top with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

With the Wicked Die – I cut two Basic Black sentiments and one in Gorgeous Grape.  With Liquid Glue, I adhered them in a stack.  Then I covered the top sentiment with Shimmery Crystal Effects and sprinkled it all with Ice Stampin’ Glitter.

I adhered the sentiment with Liquid Glue (on the ends) and small pieces of Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut out three little spiders with the Wicked Dies and stuck a Gorgeous Grape gem from the Noble Peacock Rhinestones on each one.  Then I adhered them to the sentiment with Liquid Glue.

A few Rhinestone Basic Jewels finished off the card front!

On the inside, I added a sentiment from Wonderfully Wicked in Gorgeous Grape.  Then I inked the web image in Smoky Slate – stamped off once on scrap paper – and added it next to the sentiment.  I adhered another die cut Wicked spider (with Rhinestone!) using Liquid Glue.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Gorgeous Grape mat and into my Basic Black card base, popped the card on with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Smoky Slate spider web and a Tuxedo Black spider from Wonderfully Wicked on the front…

…and some more the Monster Bash DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This Wicked Die sentiment has to be one of my favorites of all time – I love the font, the size, everything!  And the Wonderfully Wicked set complements it perfectly!  Winter Woods is more of a Christmas set, but…hello?  Can’t you just see the Headless Horseman riding thru those woods?!  I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

The dog is apparently easier to train than the Dad.

Not MY plate!  Dad’s plate.

Cheetos – are meant to be shared?

I’m sitting right HERE and watching you feed the dog!

Oh – you didn’t want me to feed the dog??

I am SHOCKED that Finn continues to beg – errr “request with intense concentration” – from his Dad.

Guess I need to read-up on clicker-training Dads…

😉

Good luck with clicker training Dad!! If you get it to work, let me know how!!!

    • stampsnlingers

Ha – I surely will. Don’t hold your breath, though – Dad’s are a harder nut to crack that Aussies! 🙂

  2. Oopsie…somehow I fat fingered my last comment and submitted it instead of finishing it. That is a cool card! Love the shimmer and the colors are perfect! And oops, caught red handed sharing with the dog. Let me know how the clicker training goes for the other…I might have to invest in that if it works well for you. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks much -happens to me all the time, Amy! Yep – red-cheeto-holding-handed! 🙂

  3. Elisha Smith

Really cool card! A great combination of products 👍 The sparkly sentiment is especially cool! If clicker- training Wayne works out …let me know😉

    • stampsnlingers

Wouldn’t it be something if it DID work?!? Think of the possibilities!! LOL! Thanks, Elisha!

  4. Gale S.

This card is awesome! I never would have thought to use the frame for a Halloween card! What an enabler you are!

    • stampsnlingers

  5. Go easy on Wayne! You know how irresistable that Finny is!
Nice card for the type. I mean, you did a great job. I just am not into Halloween.

  7. Karen

This card is AWESOME Mary!! Love it!! Keep the Halloween cards coming! Loving them!
Just an FYI there are no clicker training for Dad’s. I have five and Dad just continues to share with all five! LOL! It must just be a parent thing.

    • stampsnlingers

Hmmm. Maybe we just haven’t found the right High Value Treat for a Dad!! You’re right, though – I don’t hold out a lot of hope! Thanks very much, Karen – glad that you’re enjoying the Halloween cards!! 🙂

  8. You did a wonderful job on that frame, Mary. It looks so real and frames those trees beautifully. Thanks for sharing your card with us at Just Us Girls.

  9. Kathy H (Maryland)

Great card, Mary– love how you did the frame– it looks so dimensional and very metallic. Wickedly elegant trees, too.
I’m thinking Finn’s extra weight might not be from only the cat food bowls… just a thought!

    • stampsnlingers

Yes – you might have something on the weight thing! 😉 Thank you so much, Kathy – those embossed frames are really fun! 🙂

  10. Gerri K

Yep, dogs are MUCH easier to train than Dads!!
