Stampin’ Up! Spooktacular Everything Festive Halloween

Hey, y’all!  How goes the week?  Did you have yesterday off?  Indigenous Peoples Day nee Columbus Day – sort of an odd holiday – in that it’s hard to say who IS working (the trash collection) and who is NOT (the Post Office).  Kind of a crap shoot!  I hope your dice came up with a DAY OFF!

I’ve added a little blurb down below about a new stamp set that’s available right now for customers – it’s a New Year Celebration set – with cool Japanese images and sentiments.  Do be sure to take a peek before you get gone today, okay?

Since there’s only a couple more weeks until Halloween – I’ve done another quick Halloween card for you!  I pulled out the Everything Festive stamp set and combined it with the Spooktacular Bash bundle and Monster Bash DSP.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from the FUSION challenge this week – obviously I only used the sketch side!

And the color scheme is from the FabFriday challenge (and it WAS a challenge for me!!)…

I started with some Monster Bash DSP and matted it on Melon Mambo for the card front.

Then I cut Count Dracula from one of the DSP designs with an Ornate Frames Die.  I also cut a Melon Mambo “mat” with another of the dies in the set.

I colored the frame around Drac with my Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo Stampin’ Write Markers.

I made the sentiment, using my Stamparatus, inking the big Everything Festive sentiment and stamping it on Whisper White.  I inked the image with my Pumpkin Pie ink pad – then wiped the ink off the web and the bats.  With the words stamped, I used my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to ink the web and bats, then stamped them.

I positioned the die cut Count D over the stamped sentiment, lining up the spider and web – and stamped it again.  That gave me a spider getting ready to land on his shoulder!

I layered up the images next.  First – I adhered a large Pumpkin Pie scalloped circle to the card front with Liquid Glue.  Then I added the Melon Mambo frame with Liquid Glue.  Finally – I added the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals – and carefully lined Count Dracula up (making sure the web was all where it was supposed to be) and stuck it on with Liquid Glue – and a Dimensional.

I added a Melon Mambo gem from the Noble Peacock Rhinestones and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from Spooktacular Bash in Pumpkin Pie on a Whisper White panel.  Then I inked the bats on the Everything Festive sentiment with my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker and added them.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Melon Mambo mat and into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Everything Festive bats on the front…

…and more of the Monster Bash DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love the Everything Festive stamp set – it gives us options for so many occasions!

And when paired with the uber-fun Spooktacular Bash bundle and Monster Bash DSP – it’s pretty perfect for Halloween!  I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Even with the doors wide open on Monday – Finny-win snoozed right thru this guy’s visit.

He was right behind the kitchen – and I’m quite certain HE knew that I knew that he was there.

And he didn’t give two darneds that I was taking his picture!  In fact, he posed!

He stuck around for a minute – and I “got” to observe him giving a field mouse a pretty bad day.

But – a guy’s gotta eat, right?

Nature’s perfect hunter.

  1. Cute card! Love the fun design and you used the perfect paper for the background. Awesome pictures of the hawk…glad that he got the critter before the critter got into your house! 🙂

    • stampsnlingers

Yes – the little field mice are cute – but I much prefer them OUTside! 🙂 Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  2. THat is the cutest Count Dracula I have ever seen. Cute card. Love your hawk photo. Glad it was a mouse he had instead of another bird! But, yes, a guy has to eat, and we humans forget that nature can be cruel, at least to our way of thinking. To nature, it is the natural way of things.

    • stampsnlingers

I know! He’s just so sly and “I’m so cool I can hardly stand my own self”! And yes. Nature can be seem cruel – but humans?!? WAY worse. I don’t know of animals that hunt other animals for the fun of it – or to put their head on a wall. So…I suspect Nature looks upon us with disdain! 🙂 Thanks, Julie!

  3. Well done with the fancy Stamparatus work! Love that you used it to get the different colors and perfect placement. The spider coming down to his shoulder is really cute! Thanks for sharing at Fab Friday!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks so much, Amanda!! He just NEEDED a spider! Appreciate you stopping by! 🙂

  4. Heather Heroldt

Oo, love that fancy mambo frame – so cute against that DSP! Perfect for the discerning vampire, lol… Thanks so much for playing at Fab Friday!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks, Heather!! He’s quite the dude, is he not!? Appreciate you stopping by! 🙂

  5. A spooktacular card! I love the colors and the layout and of course the cute vamp!
