Stampin’ Up! Brightly Gleaming Ornaments Christmas Card

Happy Hawwwmp Day, y’all!! How’s your week going?  Good, I hope!

My card today is a Christmas card – in non-traditionalish colors.  I used the Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP and the Christmas Gleaming bundle.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one was inspired by the interesting sketch over at CAS(E) This Sketch this week!

And that non-traditionalish color scheme is from the TGIF Color Challenge!

I started with a panel of Pretty Peacock card stock.  Across the top, in Celestial Copper Delicata Ink, I stamped the small ornament image from the Christmas Gleaming stamp set.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere a shorter panel of Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP to create the divided card front.

I ran a length of SNAIL across the seam and used it to adhere some Pretty Peacock 1/2″ Scalloped Linen Ribbon – with some Glue Dots on the back, too.

I cut the largest circle Stitched Shapes die from a piece of Grapefruit Grove cardstock and stamped that same small Christmas Gleaming ornament in Celestial Copper Delicata Ink. Then I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop the circle onto the card front.

With my Stamparatus, I stamped three of the large Christmas Gleaming ornaments in the Celestial Copper Ink on Crumb Cake.  When it was good and dry, I punched them with the matching Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack (bundled with Christmas Gleaming).

I adhered them to the card front with Liquid Glue and a few Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment, from Christmas Gleaming, is stamped in Pretty Peacock on Grapefruit Grove and fussy cut.  Then I adhered it with Liquid Glue.

I added three little bows from Grapefruit Grove Nature’s Twine with Glue Dots, some Star Designer Elements and a Pretty Peacock gem from the Noble Peacock Rhinestones – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Christmas Gleaming.  Using a sticky note – I masked off the “&” on the stamp and inked the remainder with Pretty Peacock ink.  Then I stamped the sentiment in Pretty Peacock on Crumb Cake card stock.  In the corner, I used a sticky note mask to layer a couple of ornaments in Celestial Copper Ink. TIP:  stamp the “front” ornament first.  Cover with mask.  Stamp the “back” ornament.  When dry – remove the mask and…boom!  Another Star Designer Element finished it off.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Grapefruit Grove mat and into my Crumb Cake card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more layered ornaments in Celestial Copper on the front…

…and the Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This card sort of grew on me as I played with the fun Christmas Gleaming stamped ornaments and punched them with their matching Gleaming Ornaments punches.  The color scheme plays well with the Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP and Copper accents, don’t you think?  I hope you like!

Love the copper ornaments! They are striking. I also admire how you use these colors for a Christmas card! Way to think outside the box.

  4. Wonder if Finn figures it just another Dimensional shell 😉 Pretty unique card!
