Stampin’ UP! Crackle Let it Ride!

Well.  It’s here!  This is the day I head to OnStage!  Finally!!  When I arrive I’ll head right to the convention center to do my dress rehearsal – gulp! – and then Amy and Sue and I will go to CenterStage tonight!  Where…we’ll get an early look at the new 2019-2020 Annual Catalog!!  Whoo-hoooo!!

I made a fun card for you today – totally not my normal style – as the result of a color challenge.  I used the Let It Ride and Crackle Paint stamp sets.  Do not adjust your dials.  I have taken over your screen.  This card is exactly how it looks in the pictures.  Black.  And White.  Take a look-see.

And here’s the source of that color scheme! Inspire. Create gave us such a cool challenge – I just had to give it a shot!  🙂

I started out with a Whisper White panel and used my Stamparatus to ink and stamp the Crackle Paint background stamp in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Then I pulled out a Mossy Meadow mat….remembered the challenge – and adhered it to a Basic Black mat, instead! 😉

I used the Stampartus again to add the running horse from the Let It Ride set in Tuxedo Black on…Whisper White!  Then, with my Journaling Pen, I added doodle-dashes around the edges.  I matted it on Basic Black and adhered it to the card front  with Liquid Glue.

My sentiment, also from Let It Ride, is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Whisper White and cut out with my 1 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch.  I added more doodle-dashes and popped it onto a Circles Layering Framelits scalloped circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  😉

Then I adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I tied a bow with a length each of Basic Black and Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twines and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  I finished up the card front with a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

On the inside, I inked the grazing horses from Let It Ride in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, stamped it off twice and stamped it on a Whisper White panel.  I added the sentiment in full-strength Tuxedo Black.  Doodle-dashes finished it off.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got the Let It Ride horses in Tuxedo Black on the front…

…and the pine trees on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Okay – I probably wouldn’t choose this color scheme all by myself – but…the card kind of grew on me as I worked thru it.  And it was fun to get out of my comfort zone (a LONG way out!!) and challenge myself a little!  I do love the Let It Ride set – and hope it’s on the list to carryover!  Along with the equally wonderful-for-totally-different-reasons Crackle Paint stamp!  I hope you like!

Change It Is A Coming!

Yesterday I shared a bunch of new changes coming down the pike at Stampin’ Up!  There’s lots in store for us as we move into the next year!  I shared all the details with you guys yesterday on this blog post.  Give it a read!  Here’s a link to the post with all the information.  As always – if you have any questions, give me shout!

Stampin’ Trimmer Discontinuation

Stampin’ Up! will be retiring the Stampin’ Trimmer as of 3 June 2019, including all accessories—replacement cutting blades, scoring blades, and cutting mats.  As most of you know, they’ve experienced challenges with their supplier and are taking the opportunity to research and explore a replacement option for this product, which won’t be the same as the current Stampin’ Trimmer.  There’ll be a gap in time between when the current Stampin’ Trimmer retires and when a new product becomes available, but they do not currently have an estimated timeframe.

While the replacement cutting blades will also retire with the trimmer and will not be featured in the annual catalog, Stampin’ Up! has ordered what would normally be six months of inventory based on recent historical patterns to help customers during this transition away from the current trimmer.  But please know that this news could cause faster inventory depletion. 😳

  • When the retiring list goes live on 15 April, the order limit for the blades will increase from three to six (and the limit will remain at six until they’re no longer available).
  • From now until September, intermittent shipments of blades will be received from the supplier. Throughout these months, Stampin’ Up! anticipates times when the blades will not be orderable (and not offered as a backorder). During those downtimes, you will have the option to enter an email address to receive notification when the blades are available again.

Ooh I was hoping that we will get to see your presentation too! Good luck and have fun. Can’t wait to see sneak peaks! Black and white can be so striking. Even though it didn’t fit the challenge, I think the Mossy Meadow would have been just the right amount of color to add to the monochromatic card. Great card!

I know – I really wanted MM for the card stock, but… 😉 Thank you so much, Gale! 🙂
