Stampin’ Up! Wonderful Floral Romance

Happy Friday, y’all!  I’m glad to be back home again!  It was a good trip – learned a lot that’ll help me when I go for the longer haul in February.  Like…the hotel will be just fine for setting up my stampin’ spot.  It’s right next door to the Post Office.  AND – there’s all sorts of places to eat and shop right there, too – including an IKEA!

Whoo-hoo!

Oh – and I learned some work-related things, too – so…there’s that! LOL

So – on to the card!  I think we can all agree that one of the most beautiful-est suites in the new 2019 Occasions catalog is the Floral Romance, yes?  Part of that is the Floral Romance Specialty DSP, for sure – you guys have seen it and know it’s gorgeous!  And there’s also the Wonderful Romance Bundle – which includes the Wonderful Floral Framelits!  I used ALL of those in today’s project.  Take a look-see:

The layout is based on the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge – turned on its side!

The color scheme for this one comes from this week’s Global Design Project’s Color Challenge.

And that color palette fits perfectly with the challenge at Just Us Girls!

I started out with a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Soft Sea Foam card stock that I scored at 4 1/4″.  Then I laid the big edge die from the Wonderful Floral Framelits so that the tip of the longest leaf was against one short edge – making sure that it was all centered on the card stock.  And I ran it thru the Big Shot to cut it out.

I left the die “in” the card stock and set up the Big Shot Embossing Mats sandwich with the gray silicone mat (check out this video from Stampin’ Up! to see how) and ran it back thru to emboss the “decorative ejection holes’ – which in this case created the embossing on the leaves!

When I folded the card stock – my card front was done!

I cut and embossed some leaves from Soft Sea Foam with more dies in the set using the exact same technique.  I also spent a couple minutes cutting the little sprays of leaves from Vellum and So Saffron card stocks and a few more large leaves from the Petal Pink vellum paper in the Wonderful Romance Specialty DSP pack.

On a piece of So Saffron card stock, I stamped the sentiment from the Wonderful Romance stamp set in Versamark Ink, sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it with my Heat Tool.  Then I cut it out with the die in the Wonderful Floral set.

I laid everything out on my card front, and then built the collage by adhering all my cut-out leaves with Liquid Glue.  I popped the sentiment over the top of all of it with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To finish it off, I tied a double-length of Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine into a simple bow and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  Over that, I stuck on a Floral Romance Seal and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped some leaf images from Wonderful Romance in Soft Sea Foam on a Whisper White panel, then added some So Saffron flowers and Petal Pink “dots”!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a So Saffron mat and into the card base – and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Wonderful Romance leaves, flowers and dots on the front…

…and some non-vellum Petal Pink Wonderful Romance Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  You know – I loved this suite BEFORE I used this particular die in the Wonderful Floral Framelits.  Now?!?  Holy Smokes!  Is that not simply gorgeous?  What an impact a single die – combined with the Big Shot Embossing Mats – can make!  This entire Wonderful Romance Suite is just flat out something we ALL need in our tool boxes!  I hope you like!
