Stampin’ Up! Lovely Lattice Part of My Story Sneak Peek!

Happy Happy 2019!!  Whoo-hooo!!

I hope y’all had a safe and happy New Year’s Eve – ours was a quiet one – as always.  Watching sappy movies and listening to the firecrackers from around the area.

And today, we’re getting ready to eat black-eyed peas and greens – health and wealth! – for the New Year.

No one needs to tell me about bugs in the peas, okay?  I candled every single pea and there’s not a one to be seen! 😉

So – for the first card of the New Year – I’ve got another Sneak Peek – this time from the Sale-A-Bration catalog!  One of the pretty stamp sets you’ll be able to pick for FREE with a $50 purchase is the Lovely Lattice set – which is a beautiful floral set.  And, there’s a second set, called Part of My Story, which is all sentiments.  What a perfect pairing!  Take a look-see:

This is the Triple Time technique – done easy peasy!

I started with a piece of Smoky Slate card stock and embossed it in the Lace Dynamic TIEF (this is another great new goody in the 2019 Occasions Catalog!).

Next up – I stamped the big, beautiful flower image from the Lovely Lattice Cling Set in Smoky Slate on a piece of Whisper White.

I colored the image with my Stampin’ Blends in Light and Dark Balmy Blue, Light and Dark Granny Apple Green, Dark Daffodil Delight and Light Bermuda Bay.

Then came the magic!  Using three of the dies in the new Rectangle Stitched Framelits I cut the image out.  I lined all three dies up on my Magnetic Platform and cut them all at once.  Next, I cut two smaller Smoky Slate mats.

I matted the middle and the  smallest panels on their mats with Liquid Glue.  Then I adhered the largest piece (these look like frames now – be aware!) directly to the embossed card front.

I added the next two matted pieces, making sure to keep the image aligned correctly.  Triple Time – done!

For the sentiment, I inked the sentiment from the Part of My Story stamp set in Versamark on Smoky Slate, sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.

I used the die from the Needle Elements Framelits to “stitch” a label around the sentiment, then fussy cut it.

With a couple of Glue Dots, I added a length of Balmy Blue from the Organdy Ribbon Pack (another $50 free gift from the SAB catalog!).  Then I popped the sentiment over top with Stampin’ Dimenionals.

A Frosted Flower Embellishment with a Share What You Love Artisan Pearl finished it all off!

On the inside, I added two of the small flower images from Lovely Lattice in Smoky Slate to a Whisper White panel and colored them as I’d done the front.  I added some faux stitches with my Smoky Slate Stampin’ Write Marker.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Smoky Slate mat and into my Balmy Blue card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a repeat of the small Lovely Lattice flowers on the front…

…and I added a little Gingham Gala DSP in the Balmy Blue to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This is such a Lovely Lattice (see what I did there?!?) – just perfect for coloring however suits you!  Since you can add any sentiment you like to get your message across – Part of My Story suits perfectly!  And – you can get them both for FREE (same with the pretty Organdy Ribbon Pack – with FIVE rolls of ribbon!).  I hope you like – and are flexing your mouse-clicking fingers!  Only a couple more days now!!

Finn Fan Fix

So – if you watched the video from yesterday, you know that Finn’s had a little ADR this week.  ADR=Ain’t Doin’ Right – and that’s a technical veterinarian term.  I know – cuz I once paid $100 for the vet to come to my farm and tell me that was the problem with one of my horses! 😉

We knew the problem was a thing when he got us up no fewer than 5 times in the night – TWO nights in a row.  We all know The Man is a SLEEPER!  So…NOT sleeping is a problem.

We sort of un-scientifically decided the problem was the Lamb-and-Rice dog food.  So – stopped feeding him that – put him on a bland chicken-and-rice dinner for a few days.

And – you’ll be glad to know that Sunday night – we ALL slept!  Especially him – he was SOOO tired!

Now that we’re thinking of getting back to “real” food – we got a bag of chicken and rice dog food.  No more lamb for this kid!

Finny – being the helper he is (in a purely supervisory fashion!) – assisted with getting the new food in the bucket!

I added a 1/2c to his dinner last night – fingers crossed!

    Happy New Year to all!
    Very nice card!!! Pretty blues.
Sorry about ADR. When that afflicted Clara, abandoned chicken, went to lamb. To each his own ADR remedy.

    • stampsnlingers

Yea – I don’t know if it was the lamb or a bad bag – regardless, we’re not risking it again! Thanks, Mom! 🙂

  2. Oops, you’ve done it again…gone and made a card using product I did not want. I would love to see a video for this one because now I want everything you used. I am thrilled to hear Finn is on the road to recovery! You candled every pea…you crack me up!! Have a wonderful day today.

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks, Karen! HAD to candle the peas – didn’t want everyone worrying that I was eating bugs! 🙂 Maybe we’ll do this on a video one of these days! 🙂

  3. I love your card! Great design, perfect colors too! So glad that Finn is sleeping better…hopefully the new food will do the trick. 🙂 Just don’t feed him the bug-filled peas (AKA black-eyed peas)…no one needs those things!! 😉
