Stampin’ Up! Piece Of Cake Sneak Peek to Celebrate You!

Good morning, y’all, on the very last day of 2018!  And – welcome to our final post of the year! 🙂  Here’s to another 365 days of fun with you guys!

For those of you who spent New Year’s Eve-Eve with me, I thank you for giving me a little of your weekend!  If you weren’t able to join us – and would like to see the almost-live-but-totally-recorded version, here ’tis!

This card is made with the new 2019 Occasions Catalog Piece of Cake stamp set (it has a bundled punch, but I didn’t didn’t need it for this one!) and some Happiness Blooms DSP.  The Celebrate You Thinlits from the annual catalog lent a die cut sentiment.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from the last CAS(E) This Sketch challenge of the year!

I started by embossing a Whisper White panel in the Oh My Stars TIEF and matting it on Basic Black for the card front.

The two DSP panels are made with Happiness Blooms DSP – I know they’re flowers, but they totally remind my of fireworks! – matted on Basic Black and adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.

There are two sources for the front sentiment.  First, I cut two Celebrate You Thinlit die sentiments – one from Sparkle Glimmer Paper and one from Basic Black.  I adhered them together and then to the card front with Liquid Glue.

The Happy Birthday is from the new Piece of Cake stamp set – which you’ll be able to get on 3 Jan!  I stamped the sentiment in Lovely Lipstick on Whisper White and fussy cut the words individually.  I used my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to edge the two words, then popped them both on with some Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card front was done!

On the inside, I used my Stamparatus – and the sheet from my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig – to stamp the three images from the Piece of Cake stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a Whisper White panel.  I stamped the cake stand – then the cake – then the candles.  I colored them with my Stampin’ Blends in Pineapple Punch and Calypso Coral – plus my Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Write Marker.  Then I added the little sentiment in Lovely Lipstick.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and then into my Pineapple Punch card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more candles across the front – and I added some Lovely Lipstick hearts…

…and then I added more of the Happiness Blooms DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  The Piece of Cake stamp set has a lot of fun sentiments and cake varieties (all punch-out-able with the bundled Cake Builder Punch!)!  And Happiness Blooms is just such…happy!…paper!  I hope you like!

There’s only 3 days left before you’ll be able to get your hands on the 2019 Occasions goodies!  Hope you’re as excited as I am!

Finn Fan Fix

They say we all have a dopelganger, yes?  Someone who could BE us?

Well.  Apparently dogs do, too!

Please note the eyes.  The broken white collar.  The LIP!

And yet – THAT is NOT Finn!

THIS is!

The top picture is a semi-famous actor on a Hallmark Christmas movie!

We almost fell out of our chairs when we saw him.  He’s older than the Man by a bit – but…it’s a little like looking into the future of my little guy!

  1. I agree…looks like fireworks. I enjoy your live videos so much. It brings me peace and joy. Your Li’l Man is much more handsome than the star. I hope he feels better soon. If switching the food doesn’t help, may I suggest reading articles on VOC’s from air fresheners? One person wrote that her liquid was leaking but she didn’t know it. Her fur child was licking it up off the floor as she saw one day. Another article said when it disburses through the air, it can land on the fur and when they lick themselves…well you know. Seems odd it is only at night though. Please give Finn a big hug for me. Katie too (if she’ll let you!). I will be CASEing one of your cards today for a post tomorrow…stay tuned.

No air fresheners here – we have a mist type up on the counter in the kitchen. Don’t THINK it’s doing anything bad… But – thank you for letting me know! Happy 2019 to you, Karen – hope it’s smoother sailing for you than this one was! 🙂

  2. Susan K

I totally thought those were fireworks until you said it was flowers and I looked closer! Works for me. Happy celebration card and I love the take on the sketch! Hate I missed it live.
Wow–Finn’s twin for sure! And a movie star, no less. Not surprising though since Finnman is so handsome!
Happy New Year. Thanks for sharing with us everyday. 🤗💕

    • stampsnlingers

Yep, the Hallmark dog is ALMOST as handsome is the Finn-ster!! Thanks, Susan – happy New Year! 🙂

  3. Kate

Doppleganger indeed! I saw him too! 😮

  4. Fun card! Great colors, love the “fireworks”. 🙂 Have a great time eating your bug filled peas and slimy greens…I’ll try not to gag thinking about it. That does look a bit like Finn…maybe he’s really famous and no one told you. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

No bugs – I just checked every pea individually! And slimy greens?!?! Where have YOU been eating greens?!? Yuk! Thanks, Amy!:)

  5. Gerri Knego

Hope Finn is feeling better. Our vet just told us that No Grain dog food is not good for them. Of course, I had just bought a 26 pound bag of No Grain with Venison. My dogs are small (14 and 35 pounds). I think we’ll switch to a Food with Chicken and Grain after hearing about Finn’s problem with lamb. I know I have to do it gradually. They do not react well to food changes.

    • stampsnlingers

We heard that same news a couple months back – with a half a bag of the grain-free left! So – we used it to help him make the transition! Now on regular grain-included food! I think the Chicken will be fine for him. Good luck on transitioning your kids! Thanks, Gerri! 🙂
