Stampin’ Up! Wonderful Romance Sneak Peek for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s a color challenge and I know you’ll see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop.

I wanted to give you guys another sneak peek at one of my favorite new stamp set bundles in the 2019 Occasions Catalog – the Wonderful Romance Bundle.  And I set it atop some paper from my favorite OUTGOING paper pack – the Frosted Floral Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

Our color challenge was perfect for this paper!

Since I had help with the color scheme, I decided to play along with the Global Design Project sketch challenge for a little help with the layout!

I started with some Gray Granite paper from the Frosted Floral Specialty DSP and matted it on Blackberry Bliss with some Liquid Glue for the card front.

On a piece of Vellum card stock, I heat embossed the big beautiful floral image from the new Wonderful Romance stamp set – coming on 3 Jan – in white.  Then I cut the image out with the matching die in the bundled Wonderful Floral Framelits.

I turned the die cut floral over and colored the back of the paper with my Pear Pizzazz, Gray Granite and Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Write Markers.  Then I used a few Glue Dots to adhere the flowers to the card front.

For the sentiment, I used my Stamparatus to stamp the Wonderful Romance sentiment in Blackberry Bliss on Gray Granite.  I stamped it a few times to darken it a little.

I cut the sentiment with the die from the Wonderful Floral Framelits and popped it over the vellum flowers with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the embellishments, I fussy cut some leaves from the Wonderful Romance Specialty DSP (there are three printed-vellum designs in this set – and those are where I got the leaves) and adhered them with a little Liquid Glue.  I also used the Wonderful Floral Framelits die to cut a few little leaves from Vellum card stock, and added them as well!

I added a new Floral Romance Seal to the vellum flowers and then adhered a new Frosted Flower Embellishment.  Finally, I gave the flowers – and the seal! – a Pearl Basic Jewel and the card front was done!

On the inside, I again used my Stamparatus to stamp the large flower image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to a Whisper White panel. I colored a few leaves with my Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write Marker.  The markers don’t blend well – and I like how it makes the leaves look sort of vellum-ish, don’t you? 🙂

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Blackberry Bliss mat and into my Gray Granite card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Wonderful Romance flower on the front…

…and more of the beautiful Frosted Floral Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  How gorgeous is that flower in the Wonderful Romance stamp set??  And the fact that it can be quickly – and perfectly! – cut with a die in the Wonderful Florals Framelits just bumps it up about twenty-hundred spots on your “gotta have it” list, doesn’t it??!  It sure did for me!  And – the Frosted Floral Specialty DSP is still available for a few more days – so…snap some up right quick! Hope you like!

  1. Between you and Julie today, I am kicking myself for never ordering this DSP! Lovely card. I had to delete all the cookies connected with your site in Chrome and now I can get to you again. Glad I didn’t have to get rid of real cookies! Have a blessed day.

No worries, Shelagh! It happens to us all! Thanks so much for the kind words! 🙂

  7. Ha! I really thought about using that side of the paper, and decided that was the coward’s way out. I am NOT calling you a coward. I really like that side of the paper so much more that the one with all the flowers. It is so elegant. So, for me, it would have been cowardly to use the side that I love. I think I may have to place a SMALL order and get some more of it before it is gone.
Your card is stunningly gorgeous. I love everything about it.
